We have transitioned to a custom cut 4" foam topper (2" memory/2" base) on the sleeping platform. Works great, more room above and much warmer. I still bottom out sometimes on my hips and elbows when turning over. We're adding some cheap eggcrate camp pads we had for our trip next week to see if...
iPad Pro running Gaia GPS Pro works flawless for me...
iPad had ~40gigs of maps loaded.
Bonus, I can use the iPad to surf the web and edit photos from my iPhone and DSLR in the field.
We are going through the same process. Sleeping in the back of the FJC has its benefits and disadvantages.
The Fowing sure adds an additional element to the experience.
I use pelican boxes for the chuckbox and my camera gear (dust proof).
We are in the process of having a custom built...
I wish Exped (or anyone) made a twin size pad. I'm getting tired of an air mattress...
40x75x5 would be ideal!
It would be perfect for me on my FJ Cruiser platform.
I priced out a custom cut (fitted to the contours of the inside) Memory Foam Mattress today....$1130 :Wow1:
Sales (in general) have slowed in the past few years. Smittybilt is a house brand and there is more margin, so a sale price is not out of the question.
The company has transitioned towards every day pricing and not using sale hype to coax a purchase...
Big items like these tents (and other...
To all who are thinking about the S/B Tent. Make sure you add the 4WP Extreme Warranty to your purchase.
This covers you for 3 years, no questions asked....even if the tent breaks due to your negligence.
The XWAR is 10% of the item but can be negotiated for less if you're savvy.
The salesmen...

I DO like the screw on lid!
Might have to get one of these for coffee...
I have a FoxWing and agree with the above comments.
Mine has not broken, and I'm very careful when deploying in any windy situation.
I also have the tapered walls and believe they help to mitigate it's inherent weakness in strong winds.
BTW, the attachment points at the hinge are made out...
I'm sure there was plenty of R&D before Yeti was able to produce a sell-able version.
Not to mention the cost(s) associated with setting up manufacturing, ETC.
Super easy for the mega retailers to capitalize (after the fact) and have a KO product produced by the same factory for pennies...
I wanna roof conversion for my FJC.
Bolt on, form fitted, low profile (not taller than the factory rack) with an option for cutout access from inside the vehicle.
Talk to me!
I'm in the same situation with my PM1.
Interested in opinions on the battery mentioned above.
I have a fridge and a solar panel on the the roof...
PM1 is only holding about 12.0-12.4 volts at any one time...
