Where to mount a mppt solar controller?

My 0.02: After I figured out what I was doing wrong, I have had good luck with East Penn Intimidator batteries which IMO are not given enough credit. Every battery Ive bought from them has had a full replacement 1-2 year warranty and lists the B/A/F voltages right on top. The prices are also...

Where to mount a mppt solar controller?

In that case you need to verify that the water proof PWM model you are considering allows that battery to charge at proper voltage. Per Odyssey's website, it looks like most of their batteries are calling for 14.4 - 15.0 volts bulk after a deep discharge. The PWM I upgraded from did not have...

Where to mount a mppt solar controller?

Don't take this wrong, please. If I were you I would do some more research on controllers, both MPPT & PWM. Like others here have already said, closest to the battery is the absolute best location. Also, think of harvesting sunlight just like fishing. You could have an amazing lure (the panel)...

    Realistic Expectations of Solar/Fridge Setup

I agree with which was stated above. Listen to luthj and run with it. This thread has A TON of good information. One thing I might add is that the MPPT controllers are worth the extra buck, especially in shaded conditions. You will also keep your AGM healthier with the featured 3 step charging...

    Best small/light-duty MPPT controller?

I have to third what Rando said, as I myself have just acquired the Victron 75/10 BT smart controller and so far have been very pleased. The price has come down a little on these since they came out which is what allowed me to buy it. Using it with my 55Ah Marine/RV AGM solar generator. I was...

Toyota 1994 4WD Pickup for the Sierra Madre Oriental

Nice rig. Had a 1992 almost identical to yours except for the decals. As far as the relay rod goes; when I bought mine I was a toyota tech at the dealer and had an open campaign on my truck. So it turns out my relay rod had also never been done. So after reading into the service campaign a...

    Old's Cool

thezentree - It's called a Dosko Campmate. I think they are from the 90's and getting a littler harder to find these days. Most people change rigs before they retire these Campmates. I found this one used 5 months ago or so. They can be found for around $150-$250 from what I have gathered.
