Did you have to relocate anything to fit the compressor in front of the air box? I'm thinking an ARB is going to be my next purchase, and can't figure out where I want to mount it. It doesn't help that I suck at wiring......
I always look forward to glimpsing your trip updates and photos. Stellar stuff, man.
Question: That cross bar setup you're using to mount your MaxTrax that suits lower than the roof rack, itself; care to elaborate? It looks like I might be able to use something similar to squeeze mine in under...
Thanks!
No better time than the present to get one:-)
All told, about 7 hours. That's including several beer-breaks and points of friction along the way. Now that I've done it once, I could probably do it in 3 or 4.
Thanks man!
Yep! The X on the OME setup should take you quite a few...
Bravo on the honeymoon plan. I couldn't talk my wife into anything but Costa Rica.
... And I'm trying to post a snorkel picture, but photo bucket appears to be doing site maintenance. Install was fairly quick and simple, no major issues were encountered.
That last sentence was a bold-faced lie.
.... And I just reread your original post about wanting to add OME suspension. That will accomplish all of what I listed above, just make sure you get the HD springs for the coilovers.
Looks great! Already off to a nice start. So yes, you've got a leveling/lift kit that consists of top-mount strut spacers (looks like a Ready Lift, I think). Not an awful setup, but not ideal. When you upgrade your suspension, you'll likely want to look into new coilovers which will both provide...
Pretty much what Airmapper said. I wouldn't invest in an ARB locker, as the stock E-Locker in the rear M226 differential is amazing, in my experience.
If you take a picture of the front suspension (what you say is a leveling kit), one of us should be able to tell you exactly what you've got...
Sucks you can't make the rally again this year, man. I'll take plenty of pictures for you to revel in. We should try to meet up somewhere east of the Cascades this year, unless you want to haul the Frontier all the way out to the coast :smiley_drive:
September is pretty much a wash for me, as...
That height loss isn't bad at all. I suppose that's the benefit of the 650lb springs.
I'm going to be in Chehalis at 9 am Saturday, so I can head your way after that? No issue with the messy garage, hah. If it makes you feel any better.........mine still has our Christmas tree in it. Also, any...
Well I'm certainly game for planning a trip in the late summer or early fall, and could potentially lure a few folks from the Northwest Xterra Club, as well. You should consider making it down into Washington this summer, as well, for a trail run or camping trip!
In other news, my snorkel came...
Awesome, Steve. Can't wait to see it person. Lose much height up front with the extra weight?
Speaking of which, your place or mine for the snorkel install this weekend? I'm actually heading down that way on Saturday anyways (buying a weed eater from a guy in Chehalis), so I don't mind coming...
Great pictures man! The Xterra has really come along nicely. Question for you: did the ARB fog lights just plug into the OEM fog light harness, or did you have to swap the harness or splice wires?
What he said. That's going to be your best source for technical knowledge regarding the X.
I'm sure someone else has had the same issue, and it's been assessed by the seasoned experts over there many times over.
I certainly lump BC and Oregon in with my generalized "Washington State" reference. One solid expanse of geographic epicness.
By the way, still waiting on one of our neighbors to the north to host a Whipsaw guided expedition:smiley_drive:
Thanks for stopping in and checking out my progress!
I'm actually running 285s now, so an inch larger than stock. The stock gearing and power are still adequate for the 33s, though. MPG are acceptable. I can get 18-19 on the highway when I'm not loaded down. Loaded down with camping supplies...
As always, amazing photos and great accompanying narrative.
The side-profile shot of the frontier in post #1143 is incredibly sexy. I feel like I need to turn it into a Christmas tree ornament.
