I just bought a subscription to "OutdoorX4" SOLEY for the purpose of getting a hardcopy of the issue with your X on the front.........the only problem being that my subscription will start with Issue 17 :(

Cool truck! I often find myself envying the power and space of full sized trucks. I'm surprised there aren't more Titan builds, as they seem pretty capable especially in the Pro-4x package.
Plus.....they look cool.
As others have mentioned, thenewx is probably your best source for 2nd generation Xterra technical knowledge and troubleshooting. I can't speak specifically to the timing chain guide issue, as my model year wasn't afflicted by it, but I do know it's a regular topic of discussion over there...

Good to hear. I'm leaning towards the off road version, as well, as I don't tow. I do take on fairly heavy loads when the tent and multiple days of camping gear are loaded up, however. Hmmm....
