Fixed it for ya! :)
Though, like a fungus, the JKs and their off shoots (J8 etc) are growing on me. May be another 20 years before I could afford one but oh well.

Interesting design...I'd like to see a close up of the latch mech though. I really like the latch that Poison Spider uses for their swing out... without the main parts it looks like this. :)
Thanks Reece... I sent them a message begging them to help. :) haha! I'd think they would be interested in jumping on marketing something like this since so many people are trying to save some money by going the DIY route? Seems pretty easy to assemble the parts and build the bracket that holds...
Thanks for the link Woodsman... I'll see if I can find more about these. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "thick"? I pulled some hasty measurements in the rain yesterday but didn't get a thickness one. :)
Collapsed-20"s
Extended-41 1/2"s
and about 3 1/2"s tall?
Hahaha.... Yeah, said dumpster is located on post in Germany. It actually in the recycle center which is just crazy with all the throw away stuff. If one is not proud (I'm not! lol) you can usually find all kinds of good, neat items to re-purpose. While strictly speaking its not allowed to take...
*Question*
Earlier when you were building the swing out you said you used Poison Spider's parts.... I like the way that stuff works but couldn't find it available on their site? Do you have a part number to order this stuff?
Good work guys, nice list! Wouldn't TLC, the folks that make the ICON fall into this list? They do diesels into their ICON (FJ40 ish) and their Jeep CJ3b type thing?
Had a frustrating day trying to order parts for project side trac. Since I'm stationed in Germany I expected parts to cost a lil more to ship but our mail comes via an APO address. I need to get ST running so I can see what else it needs before moving forward with any build. Well, the parts (2...
Dive, dive, DIVE!
That's a fact! And since the tiny paycheck trumps pride everyday of the week, why not? haha! Here are a couple other thing's I've found lately. :)
hmmm...What to build?
So I've been thinking of starting a storage set up for the back of my new to me 91 XJ. While down at the local on post recycle center here in Germany I stumbled across a bunch of aluminum brackets and channel. Pics don't really show very well but most of it has slots or...
I really love watching this thread. Your work is amazing and the "how I done it" is well documented! Best of luck hitting your deadline and I can't wait to see the roof rack etc!
Thanks DWH. I found this on a military community classified ad. My guess is it was something left over from a downrange visit.?. I tried to look on the site but as you said, this may be a little old? I couldn't find it (or any inverters like it) on the manufactures site. He wants 50 bucks for...
This just came for sale near me and I can't seem to find any info on it. Has anyone ever heard of this brand/model? Any input or thoughts about it? Please?? :)
I found two sets of brand new (little dusty) Acuride drawer slides in the dumpster the other day (don't ask, lol). They are a two stage slide, maybe 24"s collapsed and 36 fully extended? They have no locking mech and only the Acuride name stamped in it. How can I tell what they are rated at?
Yeah.... no TS or Home Depot to be found here for me. :( They do have hardware stores but its hard to find time to go look. Nothing is open here on Sundays and Saturdays are my only jeep wrenching days. I'll wait until I get my thing on the road and running before I need to think to hard about...
Agree. And while I like the utility of the "military theme" on my jeeps, not in this case. I'm stationed in Germany and really don't want to draw any extra attention to an already likely out-of-place jeep. :)
