    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

I have never cared for how my Tundra rode without lots of caster, the steering was really slow to center if it did at all and it sort of hunted on crowned roads. Sean

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

I ended up buying a diy alignment kit from (https://www.wheelalignmenttools.com/) and was pleasantly surprised at how straightforward it was. Anytime I had the alignment done by a shop they put too much toe on it and it chewed up the inner edges of my tires. If I remember correctly, I basically...

Front 7.5" Differential Rebuild Questions (4runner diff in Tundra with Tacoma axles)

4.88s are the eventual plan but I am holding off until I build the new rear axle. Its cheap insurance to run the solid spacer. I will probably pick one up. Sean

Front 7.5" Differential Rebuild Questions (4runner diff in Tundra with Tacoma axles)

Has anyone run into an issue down the road from using a crush sleeve on the pinion bearing in the front diff vs a solid spacer? I am getting ready to do my gear install and figured that since everything is apart now would be the time to do it. Using the crush sleeve has never been an issue for...

Front 7.5" Differential Rebuild Questions (4runner diff in Tundra with Tacoma axles)

Looks like 4.10s if I counted correctly. Sean Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Front 7.5" Differential Rebuild Questions (4runner diff in Tundra with Tacoma axles)

I didn't look into it to be honest. Since I am using the manual locking hubs I figure that worst case I can unlock the hubs and keep it in 2wd and still get home. I did end up buying the solid sleeve from ecgs when I bought the rebuild kit for peace of mind but given that I am running a...

Front 7.5" Differential Rebuild Questions (4runner diff in Tundra with Tacoma axles)

I read somewhere (that I can't find now) that claimed that there were a few variants that used different carrier bearings. I am trying to figure out if that is the case now. I will give them a ring though, both of them know yotas really well. Sean Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Front 7.5" Differential Rebuild Questions (4runner diff in Tundra with Tacoma axles)

Not sure, I can check this weekend. It was from a 2000 4runner. Sean Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Front 7.5" Differential Rebuild Questions (4runner diff in Tundra with Tacoma axles)

As the title says, I am finally about to drop the 2000 4runner 7.5 front diff into my Tundra to button up the 4wd swap. I am picking up a pair of tundra inner cvs to connect to tacoma manual hub outers. That means that the inners should be standard for the axle. I am disabling the add system...

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Hats off to you, your frame looks better than mine (in Texas no less) Fluid film is great stuff, I swear by it for marine winterization when around salt water. Sean

    Time to rebuild my shocks:

Rebuilding them isn't particularly difficult, the parts are pretty inexpensive to do it as well. You basically need a set of soft jaws for the vise, a pin spanner, and regular wrenches. The only kicker is that you need to discharge and recharge the shocks with nitrogen. Sean

    Tacoma on air bags?

Basic setup I have, yours will be different since its a stock axle, stock shocks, and stock springs. This rides great with 5-10 psi of air unloaded, will take 700lbs in the bed with 25psi without sagging too bad. Sean Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    Tacoma on air bags?

I am running airlift dominator 2600 bags and daystar cradles on my tundra with deaver g57 leaf springs and its awesome. I originally set it up to use schrader valves in the fender wells and it has worked well for the last few months but I am in the process of setting up fill/purge valves for...

Northbound Tundra, building a 5 speed manual transmission swapped 2001 Toyota Tundra with 2uzfe 4.7 liter engine into an overland adventure vehicle

The manual transfer case still has the position switches in it, you just need to figure out the i/o positions and set it so when its in 4 anything the add relay is triggered. Its a pretty simple circuit. Sean Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    First gen Tundra cam tabs

Mine are also a little sloppy, I planned to make a little brace and burn it in but since swapping back to the stock cams I have not had an issue with it. Knock the tab straight, weld a reinforcement in and call it good. Sean

Northbound Tundra, building a 5 speed manual transmission swapped 2001 Toyota Tundra with 2uzfe 4.7 liter engine into an overland adventure vehicle

My truck started life as a 2wd Tundra so this swap was preferable because its all mechanical. As far as the truck is concerned its still 2wd. Sean Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Northbound Tundra, building a 5 speed manual transmission swapped 2001 Toyota Tundra with 2uzfe 4.7 liter engine into an overland adventure vehicle

I don't yet, it's still in process. I still need axles, wheel bearing seals, and a gear install kit before I am ready to toss it all together. I will put something together soonish. Sean Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Northbound Tundra, building a 5 speed manual transmission swapped 2001 Toyota Tundra with 2uzfe 4.7 liter engine into an overland adventure vehicle

I am getting ready to install the manual hubs and a locked front diff. You can get the manual hub parts aftermarket now so its less of an issue to put it together. The one area I wouldn't cheap out is on the outer lockup parts and hardware though. The only other hangup is that you need a set...
