I have had mine for at least 6 or 7 years. I do believe there is not just one author, it is/was published by 4x4Magazine in Japan.
And here is the...
Got it all figured out on what I need for suspension brackets. I can buy everything from RuffStuff. Plan to do a cut & turn on the front axle to set castor and pinion angle. All I need now is the cash for all the perches, brackets, tabs, ect!
Some more pictures of gear I have for the Ute...
I thought I would share this since this thread is about the truck....

Thanks to Andy for the credit on the pictures and doing a nice job on the write up!! I actually still have VHS video of the 94 Trans Trophy that came with the Warn...
To see some pictures of the PInzie's I may have mentioned....

You can see the fiberglass top 712 as well as a flat bed 712. Sean who owns and runs Eurotruck is the guy who imported my old Warn Pinzgauer. He used to focus on importing and the PInz + Mogs...
The Ute now has a legal USA title!! This goes to show you can import a truck and have no title and do everything the legal way and still get the truck legal, titled and ready to use on USA roads!
I took me 7yrs to get it titled, actually only a couple months once I worked on it but it is a big...
I would say no it is not less capable if we are only comparing suspension in it's stock from. A stock 60 series flexes like total crap. A stock 80 series will flex a bit more but not much. Thing is you can get much more out of the suspension systems with much less work/money then you can on an...
I got to agree with pretty much everything Stage 2 says. However much of it is his opinion but he is also backing those opinions up with solid facts.
Oh and FYI: The LandCruiser History book sitting on my coffee table, it says the 80 series was the start of the "mall crawlers" and that the 100...
These new Cruisers to me do not look the newer Troopies but rather a newer version of the 70 series Parado. Also known as the LandCruiser 2...
I am not a fan boy of all things Cruiser. While the Prado looks cool it is a total pile of poo. My buddy has one in Panama that is an early 1990s...
Oh and last thing...if you want to take advantage of the dogs being your vehicle security which they very much are that....make a sign and put it in the window(s) that says "Cuidado con el perro" which means beware of dog. Since you are spending time in Belize I would have it in spanish and...
Take my word for it too, it is not necessary. On my first trip my final destination was Panama so I had the Panamanian cosulate stamp my papers before I entered Mexico, in San Diego. Sure it was nice to have that extra stamp and certification but was not required at all. In fact when I did hit...
Not true about Guatemala. Absolutely no problem, in fact very fast, painless and cheap (maybe free I don't recall since I crossed so many borders). I actually recall at least one Guatemala border crossing where they didn't care one bit about my dog permit, however I have had to show the docs to...
This very much depends on your state USDA office but mine does it in less then 10 days. I suggest you fax them the form after your vet fills it out to make sure it meets their criteria. If you send it to them and they don't like it, you have to do it all over again. If you fax it to them and...
FYI, when I first moved to JH I met some guys who lived in what we called a "skid pad". They were ski bums and climbers and all that jazz. The house they lived in was old and run down. So bad that it had fallen off it's foundation years before when a backhoe backed into the house. As a result...
Yeah Kurt, I have heard Utah is one of if not the easiest state in the nation to title a truck.
And that is a strange law in Oregon. Especially since everything grows so much there, ie got blackberry bushes much!? I bought some Patrol parts years ago from a guy down in Grants Pass. He had...
Ok sorry to derail the thread...I am just researching RTTs right now, in paticular for use in Latin America.
I see myself peeing on the side of my truck, haha not a good thing I think.
So easy of setup and how fast they set up are pluses. Off the ground is a very good thing when you have...
You could probably spend a lifetime in Oregon and not explore everything. Eastern Oregon also has many great places to go and explore. Funny you mention the webb'ed toes. I literally have two toes on each foot that are fully webbed. Must be that I was concieved in a very wet enviroment...
well yeah...it is a much newer truck and sure you are talking about the same engine. You just have the newer version of it.
I look at it this way, you can buy a solid 80 series for about $5-6k if you look around. You can buy and import the engine for $10k tops, also if you look around and...
