    New Bronco

Probably to get those crawl ratio numbers to take out advertising that it is better than Jeep’s.

    New Bronco

I can't wait to see one in the flesh. Ford has been seriously knocking it out of the park the past couple years, and I'm a born and bred chevy guy. Also, the bronco sport is another home run. That, the crostrek, ridgline, etc are what about half of the people who post here actually need. That...

I have Thule tracks on my cap. What rack can I put in there?

best bang for your buck in basket racks IMHO is Surco. But with those rails you can put almost whatever you want up there, so pick your poison.

Seeking input -- upcoming vehicle purchase

They still make em. But they have modern ********, like lots of wires and ECUs, airbags and heated steering wheels.

    This truck is unbelievable good

you can ask this of any manufacturer, and it ain’t gonna happen… in the US market at least. Fortunately enough, a lot of this new gadgetry is pretty reliable, it’s just the wiring between them that can make or break a vehicle. Unfortunately, that isn’t JLR’s forte either. Lots of us in the...

It’s a Ford Escape (bronco sport) with a bed if you want to split hairs.

    This truck is unbelievable good

Most of that stuff comes standard on a 2021 base model compact Kia/Honda whatever too. people who want “old reliable trucks” can buy them. Prices are going up on those too. You can get a nice LC80 for the same price as a used D5 and the D5 is going to be a LOT nicer to drive every day.

    GMT900 Overland build anyone?

I had to google it, but it’s def a thing. https://www.motortrend.com/news/071226-2008-chevrolet-tahoe-engine-upgrade/ Like other said, I’d just make sure the big motor trucks got the 2 speed transfer case. It’s quite possible they were just AWD.

    GMT900 Overland build anyone?

I had no idea they made 6.2 Tahoes in this generation. I wonder if those got the same 12 bolt rear as the Caddys did. If so, thats a great setup. 100% get as new as you can, the 6 spd is a must have. I've ridden in the air suspension and autoride trucks... they are so so nice. But that limits...

A discussion about Rover pricing....are values really gone this high?

I skipped over your entire post to simply reply, “Yes.” Especially due to COVID. - 80s/90s vehicles and analog driving experiences are the thing now. So.. RRC, D1/2, P38 prices are UP. - SUVs and “overland” stuff is also way up, even more so due to COVID. - Not so old capable SUVs are in SUPER...

I'm not a gear head... would an LR3 be for me?

Doesn't sound like a crazy number if nothing was DIY and all done at a shop.

I'm not a gear head... would an LR3 be for me?

I like Chevys. But a 25 year old Chevy is going to need more repairs than a 15 year old Land Rover. If you’re looking at anything of that age, it is going to need repairs, even Toyota’s. So either be ready to pay a mechanic or watch a lot of YouTube videos.

Missed out on an LR3, now I have the bug. LR3 vs. LR4

I wanted a 3 originally, because they were usually cheaper and for the 4.4’s “reliability.” I missed a couple low miles ones (didn’t want over 100k or anything from where rust is a thing) and ended up with the 4. I love it. I can see someone who wants a trail rig or third car wanted a 3. Don’t...

Missed out on an LR3, now I have the bug. LR3 vs. LR4

The biggest difference when it comes down to blowing your wad on a repair is that the LR4 5.0 is a “one and done” motor. Overheat it, it’s toast. The water pumps and crossover pipes should be replaced every 70-90k according to the internet. Also, the timing chain failure is spoken about pretty...

RR L322 SC Sand Tire Question

I’d go with the Michelin Defenders in 255/55-20. If all your off road is just sand, you don’t need an aggressive tire. Yea, they’re expensive but they are GREAT tires. I wish I could get them in 19s and XL. If you want to not spend as much, you can get Falken Wildpeak AT trails in the same size...
