    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Does anybody have any info on Chris Shontz (venture4wd)? He hasn't posted a video in three weeks which isn't like him. I'm just wondering if he's okay if anyone knows or is close to him.

    Old man-big brakes

I got a unique opportunity to test my brakes out recently when my wife got the exact model and year of JKU that I own, minus all of the aftermarket add ons. The Jeeps tested were both 2018 JKUR recon editions produced in the same month. The option packages are nearly identical. Her Jeep has 3.73...

Titan Trail Trekker II and AEV Fuel Caddy Condensation?

Dan, I bought a used Jeep for my wife recently that had the AEV tank installed. It didn't have an ounce of water in it and it did have some sun fade so it was not very new. The Jeep came from BC and then it was imported to Everett for a while. I think that if condensation was a real problem...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

I hope everything goes smoothly! I sure wish I was closer by your route to Seattle, and your Jeep was a JKU. That way I could intercept you on the way through and I'd loan you a top. I found one used and put it on for my trip to Portland. If this is your plan, pray for sunny weather and good luck!

trying to work out how to Jeep camp with my 5 year old and 8 month old

My brother built his own and has had many great adventures in it! I'm not going to tell you it was easy but if you set your mind to it you can do it too! I'm extremely impressed with his talent and took a couple shots of it while it's parked in my field. I just gotta show them off and brag on him!

trying to work out how to Jeep camp with my 5 year old and 8 month old

Here's what I did to my JKU. It sleeps four, but I've got an Ursa Minor so I'm kinda cheating. It probably won't work for you but it will maybe give you an idea or two!

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

Very clean! These would work well for a solar panel as well.

Nice 1963 Unimog 404 in NE Oregon

That's really neat! It must have been brought into Enterprise by one of the wealthy transplants.

    Refilling 1lb tanks at home

I use a postal scale when refilling to know when they're full. I refill about once a year when I have quite a few empty bottles and then they sit on the shelf in the barn until they get used the next year. I never carry any propane in my Jeep, it all gets packed in the trasharoo. I personally...

    Best Pee Jars?

I found the big mouth gatorade bottles too small and settled on a lipton ice tea bottle after quite a search. Tought I'd throw that out there for you, ehem, in between a gatorade and peanut butter jar guys.

    Shore Power Battery Chargers

Yes I was considering just letting it run. I know that standard refrigerators last a lot longer if they are allowed to stay running. My dad had one from the fifties, left it running all the time! From the research I've done the last couple days it looks like I could just wire a 110vac cable into...

    Shore Power Battery Chargers

If this is a permanent mount in your vehicle do you need to select the mode every time you plug it in or does it remember where it was set? I might have to get creative to find a place to mount it and I’m not sure it’ll be easy to get to, but I’m definitely liking that unit!

    Shore Power Battery Chargers

I'm curious what others are using for charging their batteries in a smaller SUV or truck when shore power is available? I've seen a few Jeeps like mine on the forum with shore power receptacles. Are people charging batteries or just using the 110vac to run the fridge? My Jeep will most likely...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Thanks for the update, I'm very happy that you're pleased with them and it's nice to see them installed! I used a similar method for lining up the washers with a #2 Phillips screw driver. As for the remaining Hinge Tamers, I have four sets ready to ship.

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

It's a pretty simple circuit if yours is like the JK top. Forgive me if this seems obvious and you've tried it, but the first thing to do is check the fuse. After that is the switch in the header. Is it lighting up when you turn it on? If it isn't and your fuse is good check the ground wire. The...

    Bear, our 2016 JKUR

That's a good choice for a winch. The M8 is still made in the USA and you have the updated controller which uses semiconductors instead of solenoids. I'm jealous since I have the older one! That winch is only 55 pounds without wire rope on it. It's always good to save a little weight on a Jeep!

Wrangler now Hybrid Only in Europe

I am extremely familiar with the Columbia and snake river dams. The problem is that we are already at capacity and there aren't enough rivers with the potential to generate enough power.

    Circuit Breaker Advice

My ignition on circuits are all low draw like relay control and a dash camera so I’m going to use a 30 amp standard relay for them but thanks for the link. As for the aux power shutoff the breaker I have has that feature. If I wanted to store the Jeep for a time period I could just push the...

    Circuit Breaker Advice

The spod would take care of the under hood chores but I’d have to run wires back into the interior for the camper, fridge, brake controller and charge wire, etc. I don’t believe the spod is up to the task of running the gauge of wires that I have or the number of circuits. It’s a neat device...

    Circuit Breaker Advice

I see the cheaper priced stuff on Amazon, but I’m not living in poverty and don’t want to buy something twice. The name brand stuff is generally a known quality so I buy it. Buy once, cry once is my motto and it has always payed dividends down the road. I don’t need to feel embarrassed about my...
