Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

I'd be happy to answer except I don't what the heck a 97 series single-screw light is. :) It shouldn't be too many pages back from here I took a picture of the back of a light. That might help you. I can tell you that none of the emergency/area lights mounted up high on the module had...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Wellll, got to pull (at least partially) my rear springs again. I'll get out and get some pictures to show you why you never work on your junk when you're drunk and high on crack. Major bummage.

    AmbuLand build thread

David do you mind posting a link to those front side marker lights you used to replace the factory reds? My originals are there but not hooked up, and the mounts themselves are a bit busted up inside, making the mounting a bit sketchy. I have those same oval holes like yours and I'd like to...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

New springs are in. First one was a bear just because of the learning curve and figuring out the "steps" and what order they should be done in. Second side went in way faster and a whole lot easier, but good grief them things are nut-bustin heavy. Good news is it took care of the rear end...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

No, when I went to the automotive paint store to get mask and what-not I just asked them for a good self etching in a spray can. If you have a lot that needs sprayed then I'd buy it in bulk instead of ready to spray. In my case I didn't have a lot of bare metal to shoot and the aluminum wasn't...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Eight leaves, old ones and new ones. Shovel looking thingies: Har har HARDEE har har. At least I can I can walk from my house to my shop in the middle of July without looking like a roast chicken by the time I get there. :P

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Here we go again... [/IMG] Old new vs New new. Same amount of leaves but much more arch. Leaves "may" be a bit thicker but it was hard to tell without taking a measuring device to it and I lacked the ambition. Doesn't matter anyway because the proof in the pudding as they say will...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Haha! Could be. I'll have to go check my Mac. Lucky for me I only shut things down once in awhile so it might still be there. I've always done them myself. Joanne fabrics usually has, or can get, headliner material, and the adhesive I just get at Lowes. 3M 90, or something like that...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

They aren't that difficult. As usual the prep is the biggest thing. This one was kind of a weird base material which made it more of a bugger to scrape but I managed to get the hang of it and in the end it weren't no big deal. Make sure you have a MEGA sharp cutting tool. I bought a brand...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Hmm. I made another post last night showing the springs and their differences and I see this morning the whole thing is gone, not just the pics. What up man! It weren't not nuttin excitin anyhows so no big deal to do a do-over. Sore this morning! Concrete, 95 deg 400% humidity, and...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Started to R & R the rear springs tonight. Pain and suffering all around! Those suckers are heavy to muscle around by your old self. I took a side by side pic of the old new and the new new. There is a significant difference. Back when I see installed the originals I was kind of...

    Deavers, worth the $$$$$?????

Seriously? If I were that much of a lighting "junkie", before I spent $2,000.00 I'd just wait till daylight and do it for free. :)

    Deavers, worth the $$$$$?????

Dunno. I think they shine into the future or something.

    Deavers, worth the $$$$$?????

Worth is wholly dependent on who's doing the buying. I wouldn't spend $2,100 on a pair of springs no way no how. Not for MY van, but some guys would be happy to. There's not a bumper on the planet I'd spend $2k + for, but there's all KINDS of people here that just crawled all over...
