    Dogs traveling in camper?

We always kept a sign on the door stating that there were dogs inside, along with contact info in case of trouble. Never had an issue, but even at that if we were someplace we were going to be well removed from said camper for any significant length of time, with no relatively quick way back...

Agreed Oz. nothing brings out the elitist like a perecieved change to the way they think a hobby should be enjoyed. I have a hard time getting behind the rally cry of government intervention. It's easy to get behind when it's you asking the fed to regulate someone else in a fashion you agree...

Are you one of those hurricane old codgers that grumbles to the news people " I don't care if it's a category 15 Mega-Tornadocane. I've lived here all mah life n I ain't letting bit o bad weather chase me outta mah split-level refrigerator box. No sirree Bob". Never to be seen again. :)

Man you Florida sissies always complaining about the weather. Today in my neck of the woods it got up to ninety ONE degrees, and rained for about 30 minutes. Now there's some nasty weather. Yep yep.

    Introducing O'Billy - our new Type-II Ambulance

Another opinion. I mask first, close to where I want my edge to be, and apply the edge tape over top the edge of the mask. This way when you pull the edge tape, if it lifts an edge somewhere or something otherwise screws up, you dont have to reapply all that stinking mask you would have had...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Ive still got it. The one it's meant to replace is just about history, but I have to cut and splice to swap them and at this point I'm focused on the getting the Raptor done and out of my hair. After that I'll address the lights, which I believe includes my rear floods. I'm pretty sure those...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

I did it on this rig. It works fine but depending on the hinge and how it's configured the dip can be a bear to remove. If I had it to do over I wouldn't spray across the hinges. There are remnants of the orange left in mine that I still need to get out, and it's going to stink time wise.

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Got some, but not all of the diamond plate trim painted today. I didn't get the front module corners done and I didn't do the cab rocker area like EVERYbody does, which leads me to a question. I had planned on blacking out about the bottom 10"-12" of the the entire rig, because I think...

    Dogs traveling in camper?

Are you talking like a bumper pull, 5th wheel, truck camper? Have you ever ridden in one traveling down the highway? I have and I can tell you I wouldn't subject my pups to that no way. And the things are built out of card board and tissue paper, folding like a house of cards in any serious...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Sandpaper was like a 150-180 grit. You just need to scuff the shiny away and you're good. Coats I kind of lost track of because of the way I shot it. I pulled the hood and did it on some horses, while bouncing over to the main cab and front of the module. I used a whole gallon on those...

    FOUND Vans For Sale!

That van, unconverted, is worth between $5k-$6k at best. As mentioned it's a low end model whose only major feature was being a 15 passenger, and most of that has been stripped out. Assuming you bought one for $5,500, and your "low twenties" is in the vicinity of $23,000, you'd have around...

    FOUND Vans For Sale!

I think for $32K, or anywhere even NEAR $32k you can do way better. It's 13 yr old barely above base model that isn't much more than an empty cargo van. It doesnt even have power windows or door locks. The tires are marginally desirable for that amount of lift, the body is dented up, that...

Good Expedition Trailer for a CJ5?

Ditto this. Five hundred pounds empty w/500# cross country payload rating, and frankly, if you need 500 lbs of camping crap in your trailer something might be wrong. :)

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

One liter shy of 4 gallons. I hadn't intended on doing the bottom 10" or so because I had thought about blacking that out, but screwed that plan right off the bat by spraying the bottom of the cab as soon as I got there. Still plan on blacking the bottom in some fashion, but for product...

I tried. :). Not on a par with some of the other builds though, but good enough for who it's for. Hehe.

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

With the way our weathers been going lately, I figure by the end of next summer tops, we're either a desert or a tropical rain forest.

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Thanks man. Even though it was simple as far as real paint jobs go, it was still a boatload of work. I think the lights respawn as you're taking them off, and even with all those removed there's a ridonculous amount of stuff to tape up, what with all the compartment latches, hinges, etc. And...
