The color looks good. My topper was charcoal too, but it just cooked in the sun.
I think I finally removed just about all the chrome from my truck. Even did the headlights. I haven't decided on the hood emblem though.
I'm often glad to be in the sub six foot crowd. I can sleep comfortably in the bed of the truck, but I do often wish I had more height in the topper. Maybe I'll get crazy one day and attempt a pop top.
It's funny, everyone asks the same thing about the washer heater. I've never had an issue with it.

Happen to know what relay you used? Is it the typical Bosch style? Kind of what I'm thinking of going with if I can find a good one.
Yeah, it's been a bit of an annoyance. I had originally wired them straight into the end of the disconnected DRL plug without any trouble. When I put in the HID's for some reason that caused the headlights to remain on. Maybe due to the use of one headlight plug. I don't really know. But, now...
Found a couple electrical quirks since installing the Blue Sea selenoid to manage charging between the engine and aux battery. The wiper fluid heater activates at 13 volts, so when my truck is off and the sun is shining you can hear hot water churning under the hood. The Philips DRL lights also...
I thought about getting a popup camper a number of times. It'd be on my truck nearly all the time though and I'm not sure I'd like that.
It's a nice looking camper. I still want one whenever see one. What's the weight of that one anyhow?
Yeah. I figured I'd probably get a couple hours into it and wish I'd just spent the money. The NAPA lifetime warranty seemed to make it worthwhile on the reman rack.
Got my steering rack replaced Tuesday. I went with Napa as I was able to grab it for 300. Decided to have it installed, so another 300 bucks.. Got an alignment and all seems good again. Steering feels a whole lot tighter.
There are some really nice direct replacement led porch lights out there that use little power. Sounds like those light bars are going to be for very intermittent use only.
I use a more basic National Luna battery monitor. It's worked well for my needs and has been quite accurate.

The 100w Renogy panel is a good way to go for the fridge and solar. I've been using the panel paired with Optima Yellowtop since 2013. It's worked, but I will likely be needing a new battery next year.
Also, consider the layout of the roof and anything you might want to add later on. The...
Finally got around to installing my HID lights.
They look quite dark, even with the reflector painted white..
The side markers looked out of place, so I attempted a bit of a faded paint scheme using the taillight shading everyone's into lately.
That took some trial and error which I had an...
I'm in the same boat on that one. The back of my truck is pretty much fitted out for sleeping in. I made a small sink with a 2.5 gallon tank. Anything more than that and what I put in the fridge and I'm usually bringing the trailer.
I would be really interested to see someone with a Tundra get get that floor tank and put it to use. I like the idea of the water in that location. The tank I recommended might be a good low profile alternative that could fit elsewhere.
I looked into that tank for the cab floor, but the gap in the middle means the water doesn't flow from one side to the other. You basically would need a hose on both ends or lift the tank to transfer the water when it's low.
I used one of these for a while. Decent price and size, and plenty...
