Possible cheap alternative "high angle" inner CV boots. 1st Gen Tacoma but probably will work for all gen.

I wound up getting too much lift from some OME shocks and 882 coils (after not getting enough from 881s  ). The resulting CV angles were horrible. I was hoping the springs would sag some and the fact I have manual hubs would save me. Neither happened. Maybe 200 miles of 4-lo use and...

    lateral recovery

I feel like you could have turned the traction control off and probably driven out or avoided that whole thing entirely. Guy is the definition of milque toast. I also feel like tow guy could have walked over and kicked the pile of gravel away that he was about to pack into the wheel instead of...

Simpler side solar with flex panels and one battery (panels on hood)

Yet another one that repeats the motor heats the hood up substantially more than being in direct sunlight does anyways with nothing to support it. The panels have a 1/2" gap underneath. I can look through them underneath. When the engine is running the panels won't be charging anything. When...

Simpler side solar with flex panels and one battery (panels on hood)

I would really like to see how hot a renogy panel gets. These are really hot. I have never been around one of their panels so maybe my fault is just not realizing how hot all these panels all get just sitting there. I am not even talking about being under load or engine heat. Just sitting in the...

Simpler side solar with flex panels and one battery (panels on hood)

If these things last 2-3 years I would be happy enough. I almost assuredly will crash them into something or have them stolen before then. For 1/4 the price of a premium solar blanket I will give it a try.

Simpler side solar with flex panels and one battery (panels on hood)

Prove the panels are hotter on the hood than on the roof and there would be some validity to the efficiency or heat argument. These are scorching hot mounted on fiberglass too as I had them on a boat briefly just to top up a battery. Also there are about a zillion panels on boat biminis just...

Simpler side solar with flex panels and one battery (panels on hood)

We will see. But the panels are scorching hot whether they are on the roof or the hood so that's a moot point. The only possible way these panels could be hotter would be on top of a rubber insulated roof of an RV or something. Just sitting on top of grass in the sun they are too hot to touch...

    Bits & Pieces

That should be really robust with the rigid panels and that level of capacity. Even in the worst weather you should have no trouble keeping up with demand. Solar stuff is so fun to screw around with. I made rice with a rice cooker in my driveway with solar power the other day and it was nerdy...

Simpler side solar with flex panels and one battery (panels on hood)

At some point I would like to upgrade to a wedge camper top like a Super Pacific or a GFC unit. Until then I really wanted to upgrade to a 12V fridge for longer term travel but also not really mess with a seperate house battery and battery isolation system. I also in the medium term would like...

    external key storage

I'm sure some must be good but every magnet or adhesive one has disappeared by the time I have ever needed to use it. I just zip tie a key in a spot you can't see.

If that were true there is zero reason to not have IFS in the front and leaf springs in the rear which is safer cheaper to manufacture and more robust more load carrying route. Saying they are going after small fleets makes no sense from an economic standpoint so I think that is just their way...

Sigh...at static ride height and completely divorced from any approach angle benefit or how the suspension works while moving sure. Why Subarus have great ground clearance specs but horrible specs otherwise. But that isn't what I am talking about. Live axles tend to ride up and over obstacles...

Non ethanol fuel? The only time I ever got north of 20MPG out of any 4.0 I ever owned was at altitude and with non-ethanol fuel. Thick air and ethanol even my stock Cherokee pioneer with little car tires never got North of 20.

Mentioned in the video the cooling package might still be oversized from final production so there is some potential to get smaller. That rear skid, due to the panhard rod mount I think, is pretty ridiculous though. It's a giant shovel as it is now. It's weird the vehicle is all 9 and 10s in...

The flex empty to me is not as important as how it would behave with 1000kg in it so it's an incomplete data set as far as I can tell. Fexy soft suspension is great for comfort and casual use but garbage for weight carrying. Have to wait and see. The only thing that bothers me so far is how...

Do solar panels produce their voltage even when the sun is low?

I have two 80 watt panels. I did not do super exhaustive studies or anything but in series mine will start putting half an amp into the batteries before the sun even technically rises and comes over the horizon. I also found in all but the crappiest darkest overcast the series panels will get...

You must have lead a pretty sheltered life if this is your idea of vomit inducing. Also never get inside any GM vehicle made in the 90's or 00's...I don't think you would physically be able to survive the experience l:LOL:
