Defender 110; vs Range Rover classic

I take mine off completely rather than folding it down, as that is one less thing to fret about.

Opinions on 130 body configuration please

Great idea Frank, and we did an Isuzu a while back that was fantastic, except again, not top dollar due to non Rover drivetrain. Finicky market, and there may not be a clear cut answer other than the Tdi?!

Opinions on 130 body configuration please

I have seen near all configurations, but looking for most popular/preferred option here as there are so few to choose from Stateside? The 130 I am building now is SBC crate motor w/ Marc's adapter to ZF auto, and have done these prior. Great application, but doesn't bring the $$. The Tdi brings...

Jeep JKU “Stealth” build – what to do first?

At this juncture- spend a VERY LITTLE $$ on recovery- snatch strap, recovery points, either an air compressor or CO2 tank as your tires aired down correctly will do amazing things in the sand, as stated above- avoid MT tires and stick with ATs, and possibly add F&R hitches with a demountable...

Hey Doug- thought you might chime in eventually here- thanks!! I did not know you were undertaking a second 130. My current project is all in pieces after being disassembled for repaint- white of course, from Bonnatti Gray. I am still not loving the utility box on it, and may consider your offer...

Defender 110; vs Range Rover classic

NAS trucks were not really designed to fold, as there is a fixed attachment vs. the typical hinged set-up. Easy to swap out, and yes- even the ROW spec trucks need the top off to fold the windscreen. There are two 'pins' on the bottom edge that prevent it from folding with the top affixed.

Thanks for the vote!! I may know of a NAS console or two... I have typically built the Tdis, but most of the Cali gang wants petrol and power w/ auto. So, I may give it a go and see what happens- certainly easier to source and build- glad we kept a bunch of petrol take-outs.

Opinions on 130 body configuration please

Well, first off, I just sold my '11 F250 diesel w/ 400hp and 800ftlb torque, and Rover has nothing in that league- not even close. However, as Josh states, neither is a 130/110 normally even remotely considered simultaneously with an Excursion/F250. And the 250 was $60k+ w/ heated and cooled...

Dino- she was probably my favorite truck, and miss her often!! Tommyd- I do like that configuration, and am building one currently near that, but with a full box on the back- in white Dino ;-) Oh, and that is a rare '85 indeed!!~ Dave- I too agree on the radius, but the extra length does...

    2004 suburban level kit?

I just did my '00 'burb a couple weeks ago- keys in front with +2" shocks- very important for maintaining a decent ride, Firestone bags in rear, Bilsteins all around, and 285/70-17s on H2 wheels. It is barely touching the lower tip of the front air dam when hard turned and a dip- like driveway...

Josh- nothing against D-90 at all, just thought it more appropriate here as the range of interest seems larger. And you are correct concerning resale... All that said, and if I am interpreting you correctly, go the route of the blue truck on my original post, except a full length s/t with some...

Thanks- we have a 2500 4x4 '00 'burb w/ 38k miles, and I considered moving the axles to it, and making yet another HD wheeling/Exp rig, but the wife loves it as is- leveled with rear airbags and 285s. If we hadn't already gone that route, would have seriously entertained some sort of trade, as...

Mark & Felix- Thanks, and I tend to agree, though I get tunnel vision at times, hence the question to others. I did DD and wheel my 130(the white one above), and while a bit cumbersome at times off road, a great DD: very near same size as a CC F150. And correct on the 127, but like the 90, while...

Okay, I am considering one of the following configurations, and would appreciate your help. Which would be most practical in the States, and which would be most popular- if not one in the same? Please look closely, as the Hi-Cap bed cantilevers over the rear crossmember a foot or so, whereas the...

New Rubicon or Sport and modify?

Funny, as that was a major reason I went Sahara- wanted mechanical lockers, as when you need them, you need them. Never fail, no solenoids or air lines, etc.
