Carry a piece or two of angle iron and bunch of hose clamps. You would be surprised how much you can strengthen a re-straightened bent rod with angle iron clamped onto it. Potentially Plenty enough to finish the trail. Esp if winched straight instead of heated. My understand is Heating it can...
PS... did some editing to my above post to add more clarity. Hope this stuff makes since. Look forward to replies. Shoot me down. I'll be thankfull. Might agree or disagree but it will still help me and others who review this thread.
There is an additive of ceramic beads you can add to paint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwBDZM0Ij7k is a horible video with good info. For premixed there is lizard skin and others like it.
Your missing huge part of the idea behind drawer type sliders. The part that holds the drawer/platform up when fully extended outward. Good drawer type sliders be they wheeled or anti friction slide materal have some kind of rail that holds the drawer/platform horizontal when fully extended...
Where you live is important too. OEM non LED headlights to some degree will melt snow. LED's melt nothing thusly can't project out light thru a layer of caked on snow and ice.
with the improvements in Capacitors IMHO it may well start to become that it solar panels will seemingly send power direct to item pulling load. course in reality the Capacitor will be the water tank as described above instead of battery.
thinking of that..... a good topic for another...
Exhaust manifold wrap with copper tube. Old school method. Truck might get too hot for shower that way but a gen set maybe not so. Could always add a little reservoir and then run coolant thru the whatever tube you wrap the exhaust with and then run a coolant thru that with a heat exchanger...

Good 2cents of info. IMHO another .02 to consider is how well can each person handle a potential adverse situation. Can they roll a Kayak back up? After rolling a canoe...... can they right it and climb back in? Take training for both situations and others and make that part of your decision...
these days there are other things to consider. Cooking outside produces carbon dioxide from the burners.. especially if you use propane. That attracts mosquitos. These days mosquitos are something to be concerned with more than in the past. Just something to go hmmm about.
My guess is it is a 19' Ford E-350 with 6.9 diesel Mobile Traveler. Were made from Mid 70's? to Late 80's? This one looks closer to Mid 80's judging by the windows used and Ford Chassis. Windows look OEM too. Must been right when they switched from Dodge to Ford. Cause the camper box is...
yes this does look interesting. They just hit things with another version that is smaller. The peer to peer concept is awesome IFFFFFFFF enough people get into it.

Have not totally decided yet. Either a slide out from rack that would be built into an overhead frame atop the bed or chassis. It would act like a Gantry Crane when extended. Once extended.... then use winches from this extension to lower each unit down separately.... This concept could double...
