    Snow Peak Addiction

I received a Baja Burner today. Holy cow. It's either on sauté or off. There is no in-between. Maybe it burns so hot because the pot sits quite a bit above the burner? Also received a single-unit cutting board. Not only is it plain-old-plywood, it's warped out of the box. I'd pay $10.00 for it...

HillBillyRV Build Thread - 87 Ford E350 Quadravan Pathfinder Conversion

To hell with it. I'm building a 6-unit IGT table. After a lot of measuring it was time to commit. Cut the 3-unit IGT first. We are committed now. Anyone need any IGT leftovers? I have two. Here is an end shot of the profile. I'll mill a reinforcement out of nice straight, hard oak that I...

    E-bikes?

Interesting that you posted this. My parents (around 70-ish) just retired their Honda 110 and bought pop an E-bike. Loved it so much that they just bought a second to go exploring together. Dad says that they just didn't want to deal with the weight of real bikes anymore due to their age. In...

HillBillyRV Build Thread - 87 Ford E350 Quadravan Pathfinder Conversion

Today the drawer slides arrived. Holy crap these things are heavy duty! I have no doubt that they will support this drawer and all the goodies. The amount hanging out to the left will be the size of the storage compartment. I think I'll put a sliding top on it to maximize table space and also...

Towing with a 2 Door JL

You'll be able to tow 2200 sir. As previously stated by several of us, invest in studded winter tires, trailer brakes, air bags, and keep it slow. Also, I've never tried pulling a trailer over 13 feet long in the JK. Not sure if trailer length is relevant given the teensy wheel base of these...

Towing with a 2 Door JL

Oh yeah, since MPG came up. I was getting around 13 when pulling 1900 lbs. with the 3.8 motor. Would think the 3.6 engines might do better though.

Rare Arcteryx, Crye and TAD Gear jackets and pants For Sale

I have a Gryphon and it's a great jacket for hard hiking in the rain. Very breathable on the lower half. Rolling up the sleeves makes ventilation easy with a pack on too. GLWS. Oops. Just realized that the OP posted this a very long time ago.

If you fellows were going to have a custom-made stainless wind screen for IGT stoves (when used in an IGT)....how tall would you make it? I am thinking that 5 inches tall would be good. But, at this point I could make it much taller if the general consensus is that it would be beneficial.

Towing with a 2 Door JL

Frontal area rule means that you can't tow anything that is wider or taller than your Jeep. In other words, the Jeep cannot deal with any additional wind resistance (per Chrysler). It's in the JK manual. Great for towing a Jetski, a lawnmower, a Tonka truck, or anything that is less than 2000...

Towing with a 2 Door JL

Oh I read what you said, and it was inferred that towing with a 2-door is no problem and in fact, as you said, fabulous. Posts like that might encourage the OP to purchase a 2-door Jeep with the intention to occasionally tow and not realize that these Jeeps are quite possibly the worst 4WD...

HillBillyRV Build Thread - 87 Ford E350 Quadravan Pathfinder Conversion

Yesterday my sheets good arrived. This is what all cabinets will be made of. Everything will be built around the kitchen, so I must build the kitchen first. I have a 4-unit Snow Peak Iron Grill Table and a 3-unit IGT. Since I ordered a set of 60 inch lock in/out drawer slides I entertained the...

    Snow Peak Addiction

Well, I ordered one Baja burner to give it a try, two 1/2-unit steel boxes, one deep basket and one cutting board. I'll give the Baja a try and this will allow me to get the measurements for the drawer depth. At this point I'm thinking of using only the 4-unit IGT and building a storage box...

That helps a lot. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going with the double stove, Baja, or flat burner. No hurry on my part man. Thanks for checking.

Towing with a 2 Door JL

The thing that makes a 2-door feel spooky is weight in the rear (from tongue weight or gear in the rear). I have a lot of experience with attempting to mitigate this. A set of air bags in the rear springs will help a bunch and make it feel more or less normal again. This combined with a set of...

Towing with a 2 Door JL

I'm gonna have to go ahead and kinda disagree with ya there. :) A 2-door Wrangler is not a fabulous tow vehicle. Doesn't matter what year it is or what engine it has. A 2007 2-door JK auto with 3.73 gears is rated "legally" at 1000 lbs. max. 4:10s bumped it up to 2K. Not sure what gears the OP...

Invaluable. Thank you for posting that. Now I need to see if Isobutane is available in my area.

I agree. Experience required at this point. You are right. SP USA doesn't seem to make any distinction about LI or not, but every picture of an upside-down canister is silver.
