I use a Tuffy rear security vault, a 'bag' net above it, and a roofrack:

    Cargo Divider Jk unlimited

quick pic of the Tuffy with net The net is actually a bag to hold misc gear (strap dangling on left has a cinch to adjust the bag size/opening)and keep it put, but also doubles to protect from flying items.

    tire slippage on the wheel

Okay, finally got to try the sealant- after sanding the bead yet again, and so far, so good... Thanks for all the input, and if this does not do the trick, I'll post up. Cheers Dale

    Cargo Divider Jk unlimited

I just fitted the Tuffy divider(top/bottom) which makes the bottom section secured, and very well pleased with it. I then installed a net bag used in the rear of pick-ups to prevent anything going into the rear seat in the event of 'flying articles'- although the top layer is well below the top...

    Electrical help needed please

so, two 6V wired + to +, and - to - I assume? And the golf cart batteries are preferred? I can see them working well as they have a long life and tons of reserve. Thanks again!!

    Electrical help needed please

Bill- does that mean in spite of having a PW it works? ;-) I do miss mine except at fillups... Thanks again for the help. I have considered going the manual solenoid route, but really doubt the third battery will get lower than what the 'trickled' charge the existing + would compensate. I can...

    Electrical help needed please

Okay, a little more research, and it appears I can charge the third battery from said wire. However, I was advised I should add a 30amp fuse just in case the two primary batteries ever get low, and the truck tries to use the third battery to start- in other words, reverse use of current. The...

    Electrical help needed please

Although I am a Civil Eng, I do not 'get' electrical/wiring, so pardon my simplistic question. But, I have a F250 and planning a bed mounted battery(in a box) and possibly an inverter(which I already have). The question is, can I simple tie into the hot lead (not the brake, but + lead which is...

I bought two sets and only need one, so I have four brand new Goodyear GS-As, 37/12.50-17, E rated, still have labels, never mounted, stored in doors and purchased from Goodyear Wholesale 6 months ago. $1195 for the set. Thanks- and if unfamiliar, these were the factory tires on the later Hummer...

    New JKU Expedition build ?'s

Yea, just a 'tich' as my wife says- it's the underside where the money pit is of course. Which aux tranny cooler did you use Bill? JPK- thanks for the shifter info. Did you do an aux tranny cooler, and if so, which one? Still debating on that mod... Thanks JKJENN

    New JKU Expedition build ?'s

If in Moab, and looking for instruction, Dan Mick(SP???) is the best, hands down. Well, the best for full time Moab- otherwise use Bill Burke- Camel Trophy participant, and travels the country teaching- amazing skills- driving, recovery, etc and very personable ( http://bb4wa.com/ ), and long...

Quiet tire replacement for Toyo Open County M/T recommendation needed

I have run the Toyo ATs on Expeditions, F150, and currently my F250 diesel- great tire for noise, balancing, and towing. I have not had wear issues, but am super anal on pressure and rotating. And if you want a bit taller, I run the 285/75-18s which are 35/11.50- very well pleased...

Expedition Portal: The Land Rover 109 IIA Build

Great truck!! Contact Mary Ann on here, and chat with her- she drives hers, has driven it for many years, and is an all around Series nut... We also have a fella locally that has had his S-IIa for 20+ years, and is his DD- they are the real deal for sure. I just found a S-II owners manual and...

New vehicle for playing. Looking for input about my possibilities.

Just looking at your previous 4 vehicles, and the comments on the existing CC you have, I would be concerned you will be disappointed with the 'big' rigs. I had an Excursion, and it is a great long distance traveler with a family- tons of room, comfort, etc. But the '04 and earlier 250/350s...

Airflow snorkel install - 2006 Dode Power Wagon

I did mine last year, in similar fashion as you did, which made more sense quite honestly- a little more snorkle eye candy:

Opinion on which direction to take on my build.

There are several analogies, from running to bicycles to racing, and so on- weight is not your friend. Less weight, less fatigue, less energy required, etc. There are certainly instances where a load shift- similar to a person 'hanging ' on a vehicle can help- but imagine how much less weight it...
