We put a set of Viper (heaters, lumbar, etc) take outs in our old TJ, and they were great after you got in them- infinitely adjustable. As stated above, getting in was the issue with coil overs and 40s, but once in them, paradise!!
For your application, I would suggest the Sport, add a rear locker either Detroit or TT, AEV 2.5, a tire upgrade and winch. Then get out and enjoy as the ride will be amazing, and the insurance of the Detroit and winch should be plenty.
As far as the habitat, I choose a tent cot for my solo...
Agree, but I am not in the middle of the desert typically and needing closest couple degrees, and have only xx options when driving. I still refer to the sun, shadows, moon, etc for rough direction i.e.roadways, etc. Not trying to fuel a debate, just saying be aware of the surroundings/basics...
Posted my new JK-U s/t in the equipment section, but wanted to raise a flag here as it is specific to Jeep section. Just a heads up before going to Ebay, great deal at $595. Cheers, Dale

My JKU came with dual top and I have no need for the s/t. Still has factory wrapper and windows new in box. Looks like they usually sell for $800+/- but I will take $595 OBRO. Need it gone before it gets messed up being stored. Thanks, Dale
I may be in for Sunday- maiden voyage!! What are the specifics- Outpost? Time? Thanks for thinking of me, and I'll start getting the kitchen pass initiated. All good here- hope same for you/yours. Cheers, Dale
Sorry to hear of your health issue, but glad to hear your approach!! I have either a set of 4 or 8 of the 9.00R16. I have 4 on my 130 but can swap to nonmilitary if need be. I believe they are all XS, and at least 4 seem new. The other 4 are 80%+. Willing to sell reasonably, but pm if interested...
Don't kid yourself. LR skipped doing a '96 NAS 90 as they couldn't get OB2 to work as they were utilizing the Disco ECU. By '97, they had added the CV tone rings simulating road speed via sensors for a reading for the ECU, but obviously never did ABS, etc. It was needed for engine management...
Yea, slowly but surely- it keeps getting second billing. Also, decided I didn't like the gray, so completely disassembled her, and went Alpine White. Now I have a bunch of white body parts everywhere.
On a good note, I just got a one owner XD from Cali and we are almost done with a fresh...
DISCLAIMER: I am not sure of this, but have been told while towing in tcase N, the shaft spins with no gear involvement/engagement. When this happens, no oil is being 'splashed' around for lubrication, and the resultant heat is the issue. This also explains why it works short term, but not so...
Meant to ask you if you have need for some chrome orig Scout wheels? I took these off the '74 I had last year, pretty decent shape- pm if you want them.
buy one very good winch, and use a cradle and F&R mounts. You can store the winch where ever suits for accessibility, CoG, keeps weight off front and rear, keeps it clean, and will most likely it will never be stolen or messed with- just gotta find a place to store it. Also, do rope in lieu of...
I just got another one owner '97 XD from Cali, heads bad so putting in a newish motor with all new seals, new radiator, etc. Check the sold section of my site for some past trucks. The XD is all complete, rear seat covers never installed- still new in the bag!! And never wheeled, female owner...
Thanks forn the kind words Adventure Jeep and Rozzi- I really wanted to gut the interior, what little there was, and do four suspension seats, and a complete build, but kinda glad it went elsewhere as they always get out of control dollar wise.
Just finishing this JK, 3.5" AEV with 37" KM2s...
