I have/had 2 6.0s, 1 6.4, and a 6.7 and this is what I have to say. The 6.7 so far has cost nothing. The 6.4 cost right around $8k to fix when the high pressure fuel pump went out. The first 6.0 cost $4k to fix the HPOP when it went, an egr or 2, and about another $7-$8k bullet proofing and...
271 is a later case I believe, but it still bolts up. As long as your tranny comes from a 7.3 4x4 application you should be good, with no other mods required, but don't consider me the definitive authority on 7.3 tranny/transfer case tech.
Different output shaft and adapter required out back in order to bolt up an nv271. The adapter is no big deal. Unbolt the 2wd tranny version and bolt on the 4wd version. The output shaft on the other hand is not so easy. It's the last thing to come out of the tranny, which essentially has to...
It's all good. Just passing info. The leaf sprung setup is arguably a better, more "serious" off road system, but in all reality how many of these vans are going to pull hardcore off road duty? Nothing wrong with that radius arm setup and I'm sure you'll do a bang up job. And gettin 'er...
You know in all seriousness, if you did consider it, doesn't Abitibi have an entire kit for sale for dirt cheap, including axle? Somebody here does. Out your way too I think.
Shoot, not as bad as aftermarket. Drop a battery in it, maybe a lid and roof rack, and now you've got what is essentialy an M-416 knock-off worth five figures +/-. Crazier still, people will spend that money.
What do you want to invest and/or how important is the stuff you're concerned about? Short version is if it's in your vehicle it isn't secure, period. The long version is you don't have to make it easy. If it were me and I was that concerned I'd look into something like a Knaack truck box...
I understand your dissatisfaction with bumper choices for old vans, but I'm having trouble seeing where its going with this adapter. Would it not have to be modded for every bumper, or is this going to be specific to this ARB bumper and that's the end of it? If so is the ARB going to need...
Yeah, it was a lot. I hated to hear the phone ring because it was either A) somebody that wanted to send me work, or B) somebody that wanted to know when work I already had would be done. Stressful year.
Pretty sure the transformer in my fridge took a dump. It works on AC but the DC side no workee. According to Edgestar vid the transformer is the offending part, but I'll be danged if I can find one. I cant even find a "parts" page on the edgestar site. Assuming Edgestar is not in the parts...
One year my shop worked 50 out of 52 weekends, and 24 hrs a day (3 shifts). Some guys would complain and I always told them get it while you can, and it beats standing in a cheese line someplace.
Shoot, I can tell you what I think right now, no bolt on required.
1) I think its futt buckin ugly.
2) I wouldn't give $1,500-$1,850 if you gave me a pair of them.
Opinions may vary. :D
Give me that in raw steel and I'd be on it like white on rice. I hate those big friggin tubed monstrosities that look like the lions share of an off shore oil rigged bolted to some peoples junk
