If you could incorporate a strong enough door for "swing out" accessories, that would be an awesome shell. Some may make argue "why not just use a swing out on the bumper." That is fine, but you have the options. Very cool. It would make it easier to get into the back as well, not...
I think the owner is on TTORA, not sure about here. (Im not a member there, and didn't feel like registering just for that question, but I may have to.)

Is there a build thread on it?

Thanks
Well, that test was right after I had the hard start at the station. The battery may not have been fully charged, but charging...I will put it on a tender today then start it up and test out running voltage. I have had 0 issues with the charging system up to this point though.
I was fortunate...
Quick rundown. (I am NOT an electronic guru, keep this in mind)

2003 TTR250. Mag output is 14V, 13.5 amps @ 5000 RPM. = 189 Watts. (Baja Designs website says 150W for the TTR) Granted thats wringing the engines neck a bit, but anway...

Comes stock with a 35W / 36.5W headlight and a 5W/12W...
Pretty much done with the new light / fairing setup for now. Had to rewire with a relay as the lights started smoking the original wiring. But the stator seems to be putting up with the draw just fine.

Thanks a lot Cabrito. It is amazing how much cheaper it is to build and maintain something like this compared to some of my past (and even present) vehicles. Kind of nice...
Scored this little system on Ebay. If anyone can tell me the manufacturer of the mount, please do. Lights are 6" PIAA's. Should provide a much better light output than the single original light. The TTR stator puts out 150 watts, which is pretty impressive, so I *think* I will be ok with...
Thanks. I plan to explore a lot more of this area...there looks to be a significant amount of potential from google earth pictures. The only thing I have to worry about is getting on private land, but I have looked this up on a Tennessee land ownership forum.
Will post up new stuff soon...
Into the Citico Creek area now.

Some of the next few photos show the tornado damage from a couple years ago when one ripped through the area. They just cleared out a lot of it last year so that the entire loop was passable. It has grown up a bit, but riding through it, you can certainly tell...
I will maintain this thread with my day / short multi-day trips around the East TN area. Much less exciting than some of the awesome trip reports here (out west especially) but that is the way it is around here. Gov't owned lands, and only limited access to them in / on a motorized vehicle...
A few pictures of the bike from a quick trip today.

Below you can kind of see the aluminum heat shield that goes between the pannier bag and the exhaust. It also goes between the side cover and the exhaust as well. This has been an awesome addition, allowing me to keep the bags further...

Thought I'd start a simple thread on my thumper. This bike may not be for everyone, and the same may go for its modifications, but it gets me out in the dirt and thats what it is all about. The upgrades have mostly been on the cheap...the bike was cheap, the mods will be cheap. The TTR has...
