I need to hit Naches now that I'm a permanent resident of Washington. Just Eric, I've hit the Olympic Peninsula almost every weekend for the past two months and can offer up a few good areas to check out, if you're interested.
Same here. I might actually go up Friday night and find a place to camp, make a full weekend out of it. I'm thinking about starting a thread on here to gauge interest from the ExPo folks.
Also, this will be my first run with the NWXC crew. Should I expect to be hazed? Will there be paddling...
So I spent my Sunday romping around Washington Pass in the southeastern corner of Olympic National Park. My goal in the trip was to spot one or multiple Roosevelt Elk whom occupy the Olympic Peninsula in non-migratory herds. Ultimately, I failed in my elk quest, but it was a worthwhile trip none...
Parts links would be great! Thanks man. I'm also digging the grab handle ram mount, might need to steal that idea for the Xterra, as well.
I'll see what I can do about taking a week in November, potentially, and trek over the Cascades to your part of the world. My brother and I are planning a...
Pictures all all great, brother. Looks like a fun trip. I'm going to have to join you on one of these Montana excursions eventually, or at least try and hit some of the locations you've been documenting. Might try and take a week off in the fall/winter and head out that way.
Also, to avoid...
Yeah, I didn't know what to expect from Capitol but it was worth the trip. Definitely makes me want a MTB, though!
Thanks for the kind words. You'll enjoy this area, with the Olympics to the West and Cascades to the East. I've really enjoyed the Xterra, let me know if you have any general...
I just moved up here in June. Before that, I was in Arizona for 8 months and spent my whole life prior to that on the east coast. Any tips or suggestions on fun places to hit out here? Fun trails or scenic areas?
I ventured out to Capitol State Forest just south of Olympia today. The overcast skies and sporadic rains provided a welcomed relief from the recent heat. No real rough stuff, just graded roads. There were some decent views when I got into the higher altitudes.
Use #217 for a Gobi ladder...
Thanks man. There's no doubt it looks good. Some people don't dig the ARB bumpers on Xterras, but I'm in love with it.
...and of course, there's always room for MOAR LIGHTZ!!! Hah.
After 32k miles, I've gone through two drivers side sway bar end links, currently on my third. One of those was before I even lifted the truck. However, I recently removed my front sway bar so that should no longer be an issue. The handling characteristics of the truck did not change that much...
Thanks man. You made it safely to PA, I'm assuming?
Yeah, Hurricane Ridge is a trip best reserved for a clear day. The vistas and wildlife are well worth a lengthy drive to get there.
I appreciate it. Don't hesitate to get out there with your truck in its current form. This platform is...
I have had a similar issue with my Xterra since it was in its infancy. It is likely one of two things: either your front sway bar bushings or endlinks (both of which are easily replaceable), or the spacer washers that go on your lower control arm bolts (cheap replacement, but not as easy to do)...
Finally, I spent the 4th of July weekend exploring the Olympic Peninsula and Olympic National Forest. Particularly, I drove the well-known Hurricane Ridge route to Obstruction Point Road, and hiked the Olympic ridge line. If you were ever considering visiting this area: stop considering, just do...
