it is probably better that you dont have the budget yet. It forces you to learn the vehicle you have, it limits, and yours. Then when you do have the funds, what you want or need to do to the truck for the way you us it is a lot more apparent.

I may have just missed it, but I would like to see organized 4x4 runs, or even just scenic drives. I went out on my own, and saw some of the beauty of the area, but it was just random driving in the forest.
I was camped near him, and talked to him. His Name is Chris, company is Backcountry Fabrication out of Montana. It is all aluminum frame, and skin including the pop up. He built it about 5 years ago for an Alaska trip but was talking about possibly using it as a prototype.

I just picked up a standard camper shell off of craigslist cheap, and it is in great shape. simple plywood platform, and all my gear stores under neath and I have a sleeping platform. Nothing fancy, but works great. you can also get tents that are made to fit the bed of the truck.
