The Ute install has not started yet. I had to reconfigure my garage from doing house project to truck shop. I got that done today so the real tear down will start later in the week. After today though I feel real good about the progress I will be making soon.
If they do infact have the 255/85/16 out by the oct. I will get a set to run to Baja this year. Kauffman tire is going to sponsor our trip and we are all getting some new shoes as part of the deal. I was going to run the trxus mt but would love to try the new BFG MT
I think you are makng the right choice to stay in the 265 size. Besides the great thing about the Expo forum is if you have to use a smaller rubber then the rest of the fellas, no one here will laugh at you! :hehe:
when you get our rope make sure to get a few 10' sections of chaffing guards it is really just a ylon sleeve that can be moved up and down the length of the rope incasr you are in a situation that makes the rope scrape over a rock etc. They are cheap from rockstomper like $10. I run a 3/8 line...
Although I personally would run a 6" wide rim the 7" rim should cause you no issues. Just be er a littl eon the side of caution as you air down the first time or 2 till you fins a good medium om the wider rim. Wide rims can cause you to loose a bead if you go to low in comparrison to a more...
Well if I knew I would say. The group collectively has alot of modifications coming up to prep for baja so they will be grabbing our rigs periodically to do the jobs they want to feature. So far they have the mod list and will contact us when they get ready to folm.
Personally if it were me I would take along a front and rear wheel bearing. You will need a shop to press them in but that is easier to come by the a bearing I'm sure.
All hoses, belts, thermostat, all the filter you need minus the cabin filter. spare cv axle, u joints for both d shafts, maybe...

When I was in Ecuador in March I saw 3 FJ cruisers down there already so definetly not the first. 2 were on the street and 1 was was on display in the mall as a new car for sale.
I would not hesitate to use a ranger. I have one in my drive way I have beat on pretty good for the past 235,000 miles. No problems other then the original plugs and wires being defective and an a/c hose blew out. the rest has been normal service. THe tranny started slipping about 2 months ago...
I think the big problem people have with tire pliers is they do not get after it. I actually used them earlier this week when I installed 4 new tires on my flat bed trailer. I put 2 jack stands in the rear and cranked up the front foot to get the whole thing off the ground. It took about 45...
If you have not designed any boats before pick up a copy of the "The Nature of Boats" it covers all the basics of different designs. THere are a ton of factors to consider here so if you guys have not done the research on boat building yet you have alot of work ahead of you. Good luck and kep us...
Yes the actual mileage from tampa to cabo is one that I do no think I truely want to know. Of course it is longer on the way down via the baja race course LOL! I think the actual mileage from Tampa to cabo via hard road is around 3500 1 way give or take a few hundred miles.
Last year when we...
We are going to have fun and film. Part will be for the TV show Truck universe and part will be for the new baja viseo coming out from Off Road Video porductions which is owned by our very own Expo Member Blue Ox aka Cory Frisco. he is doing a Baja expedition/1000 race video.
Ok so a few updates. We are all in the tedious process of getting the rigs ready now. We have teamed up with Cystic Fibrosis this year to make our event a fundraiser. we will have 2 events before we go one of which is the send off party. More details on this we come in the next week or so...
As much as I want the xcab chaneling the cab section would be a crazy amount of work for minimal gain. Yes the cool factor would be high but I decided the balance of things was to far out of wack.
yes but i do not want to yank the rear at the scrap yard unless some one really wants it. I have to have it rolling to get it to the yard since i do not have a fork lift to load it onto my flat bed trailer. I can pull the rear at the yard but like I say bad place to that kind of work unless...
