Northbound Tundra, building a 5 speed manual transmission swapped 2001 Toyota Tundra with 2uzfe 4.7 liter engine into an overland adventure vehicle

What’s the strength comparison between the manual swap vs stock transmission? Always been a dream to have a 5 speed again (now that I did a VB upgrade...)

04 crew cab Tundra adventure build - New England.

I have the wet okoles and love them. Great fit, extra cush. First set lasted 12 years, just bough a second set for the front buckets. I got the lumbar support with this set, not worth the money imo just get the covers straight up.

    AlaskanTundra

Any issues rubbing at full bump? Did you cycle the travel? Curious as my AC is under the knife and I’m debating cutting a lot to fit my 35s vs LT for more room.

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Just put 35s on my AC. No way with front it’s getting chopped right now. Same with the gears, 33s the limit. No way I would run 35s on stock 3.91s

    Icon's vs Bilstein 6112.

Never noticed any suspension binding for me (extended travel with internal “limit stop”). My shop has also never mentioned it. Certainly worth cycling to check.l but not something that I would be overly concerned about. Have not had a sway bar for 13 or so years. I prefer the ride even if you...

    5.29 w/35s, 1st Gen Tundra

488s on order - came across a different tundra owner that is ADAMANT that I not go deeper than 456, in fact pushing me towards 430 and states the 488s will break time and time again, want to solicit others that may have this combo. Also expressed highway RPMs will be far too high, I expect what...

    Icon's vs Bilstein 6112.

A lot of negativity on here regarding ICONs, figured I should add my positive experience. Original [Donahoe] ICONS extended travel, rebuild once @ 80K, now have 150k. Was romping on them last week in the desert, no issues, did great. Rear has 2.5" piggybacks - never rebuilt (suppose I...

XC mountain, How do your tires look? Still happy with god decision? In the same boat right now and few run this size.

is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

Additional con: tiny 7.5 front clamshell for such a heavy truck. I’ll be rolling the dice with my bigger tires.

    5.29 w/35s, 1st Gen Tundra

Went with 4.88s. Now to decide on tire size (I’ll save us another brand debate). 35x12.5x17 315/75/17 Go 34 and 285/75/17? Others? Excited to get some bigger meats!

    04 Tundra Headlight Replacement

Retrofit with cheap housings will solve my hazing issues and hopefilly provide better light output than a straight OEM swap. Going to try that route and report back.

    5.29 w/35s, 1st Gen Tundra

Been searching for a while and can’t find any threads on this. Stepping up to 35s (35x12.5x17) - those that have 35s let me know if I should consider a different rim / tire size combo. Also F/R ARBs From others sounds like 4.88 is the way to go. Can someone post their rpms at various highway...
