    Outback Challenge Discussion Thread

It's interesting that that there is so much discusion on technical driving. It appeared to me that most of the "obsticales" were sand dunes and navigating them. A true challenge for sure but not my idea of "technical" Obviously the short hill climb, water crossing, and trail section through what...

    Another narrow, aggressive tire

A TSL is almost a standard issue tire in our neck of the woods. So much mud to deal with. THey suck on the road though. laud, rattle your teeth out, no traction, but get it done in the mud they do!

    Campa USA

I believe the price difference between a horizon by A.T. and an ATT by Campa is roughly 5K. Althought the Campa is all Stainless has (2) 22 gallon water tanks, a hot water shower, a tent with a room at ground level and 2 side awnings, a sink, 60Q engel, battery and a hot water shower. You are...

    Campa USA

Awesome units. we puled 2 of them on our last baja trip. They made the experience afirst class trip. all of our gear was easily stowed in the campa units for15 days for 8 people. The stainless construction is tough and looks awesome. The kitchen is incredible, the hot shower was great. then...

    "Cargo Cross Bars" capacity

There are 8 clamps total on the xporter. It is not a huge deal to take it of after the initial install is done. Install takes about an hour but removal/reinstal takes about 10 minutes. You can pull the cross bar and upper vertical support out of the base but since I have not done that I can not...

    "Cargo Cross Bars" capacity

There is no alternative to that rack it rocks. I have run yakima's outdoorsman, it broke. I ran a custom triple yakima bar set up using control towers and it broke. I then went tot he xporter and have beat the snot out of it no problems. The best thing is that you can have it in the low position...

    Trash storage

In Oz they make these bags that strap tot he rear spare tire carrier like a back pack for trash. Michelles sacks makes a nice unit down there. It is a problem though. One thing I have is a collapsible trash can that works great for camp. I put a bag in it and then toss it in the bed or cargo...

    Mods: Where do I start?

Well for me I would do armour first. Sliders and front and rear bumpers. Then I would add a winch and storage boxes for all my tools, parts and gear. Next I would do a 2" suspension lift either OME or some kind of adjustable coilover and either ome or deaver springs out back. Then for tires I...

    on board air

Probably a brand that is just not marketed tot he offroad scene. A well made compressor is awell made compressor reguardless of label. If it meets your flow and duty needs and will hold up to the rigors of offroading then go for it!

First post, have a few questions for the experts

Not to shabby for the $ you have in it! I would suggest investing in some better clamps. I would use 3 topper clamps per side for wheeling purposes. As far as the racks the Taco's do not do as bad with rack noise from my experience. If it is annoying to you just get a wind fairing. That...
