Not to prolong this thread but isn't the very nature of off/roading- overlanding portable? The units that use bottles to a small hard tube are the exception. I'm glad that you pointed out the lined lines and I will endeavor to locate some. Thanks.
What % of hoses sold in US are classified 'cheap'? I've yet to see anyone running copper from gas bottle to camping stove. It's good to know that there is a superior grade of hose to seek out, thanks.
This issue is probably more common than we know. Mr Buddy heaters highly suggest using a filter as close to the unit as possible, you may want to investigate? Getting your tank purged and cleaned couldn't hurt.
You may consider using circuit breakers instead of fuses. For instance if you were to pop a fuse in BFE a replacement may not be readily available, in addition if you were to secure a replacement and didn't fully correct the original issue whoops you may need another one.

Although appearing murky I'd venture the authorities would tend to error on the side of caution and go thumbs down at least here in Ca.. Where the incident would go from there would be highly predictable I venture. That being said it has it's place I'm sure and I like the concept.
