It was two shafts that were joined...Front half NP435, rear half Land Rover. It was supposed to be inertia-welded but turned out to be only mig or tig welded and never re-hardened. The new shaft was annealed, machined from an original NP435 shaft and re-hardened properly. I have complete...
Hey all. Been a while since I posted here so thought I'd give an update.
We took the new 109 on what was supposed to be a two-plus week trip into the North Maine Woods in June. An uneventful first couple of days up there and into the bush ended 70 miles north/north-west of Millinocket when...
Tikka all the way. I have a T3 Hunter in .270 and it's the most accurate rifle I own. It wears a Nikon Monarch 3-12x42 BDC That I'm very happy with. I'm not a good shot and I can post 1" groups at 100 yards all day long with this gun. Something about it just makes me shoot it well.
My next...
Well, I took my first two deer with my new Tikka Tuesday night. (Yes, taken legally on CT crop damage permits.) Both were about 100 yards and both presented themselves perfectly sideways too me and were nice enough to stand still. Both shots landed exactly were I wanted them to and I couldn't...
First-post-Pete. Awesome!! A perfect solution. Thanks for a great idea.
EDIT: Just found a great use for all those lockable pistol boxes too! Thanks again.
I've said it before...Mileage is the absolute last reason for doing a diesel conversion. The cost of a diesel conversion will out-cost any savings in fuel ten-fold.
Why a diesel? You really need to sit back and ask yourself what you are going to do with this truck and where are you going to take it. There are some reasons to run a diesel but there are just as many reasons to not run a diesel.
The truck you describe above if you're starting with a typical...
Stainless eyes from McMaster Carr or a good hardware store. Really though, they look cool but aren't all that practical. They get in the way more than you would think.
Kevin's right on here. Gaining fuel economy is the absolute last reason for doing an engine swap. It's a nice bonus but certainly not a reason to embark on a conversion.
I do believe there is a bit of truth to a Glock being more likely to have an AD than another DA/SA auto with a harder DA first trigger pull. Hey, just look at Plaxico Burris! Seriously though, the likely hood of a piece of loose clothing getting hung up and discharging the weapon during...
You're right. Don't pull the trigger, the gun won't go off.
But, perhaps a bit more care needs to be taken holstering a Glock than somthing in a DA/SA with a stronger DA pull. (if we're talking auto pistols)
Glocks are great and I have a Glock 19 but I don't think it's the ideal "first gun"...
Spent some time with my new Tikka yesterday and thought I'd post up about it.
I've been looking for a new deer/caribou rifle with wood that was both accurate and didn't break the bank. After a bunch of research I ordered a new Tikka T3 "Hunter" model in .270. I also ordered a Nikon Monarch...
