Actually, no. Not big ones anyway. 2 from a 30-30 and 4 from a .44 magnum (rifle) It will, however, handle 147 grain 9mm without trouble. Moral of the story? If you're gonna get shot at when you're off-roading, hope it's a guy with a handgun.

Haha. That's funny. Tell ya what...I have one that I screwed up the treads in. I'm also going deer hunting this week and could stand to sight in a couple of my rifles. I'll shoot that spare one tonight and post photos. It'll be shot with 30-30, .44 magnum (out of a rifle) and maybe .243 for...

I'll chime in with my obviously biased opinion.... I use both pans, mine on the 109 and Ray's on the 88. The 88 also runs a Roverdrive so I like the benefits of the cooling fins on Ray's pan. My pan, however, is undoubtedly stronger. Ray's pan is cast, mine is heat-treated 6061-T6. I don't...

    109 Expedition rig build

Alright, that's about it. I did the rear diff the other night and have been driving it around for a few days and I'm happy with it. The front will get done early this week. So, for all intents and purposes this build is done! Of course, like any Land Rover this truck will never truly be done...

    It's done! 3.0-liter turbo-diesel FJ60 from TLC

You speak the truth! (Having just finished one myself) Expect mileage and power to improve after 10-20k. I've got a big Cummins in one truck that didn't start running well until about 60k miles! What gears did that truck have in it originally? Gearing is a touchy thing and hard to dial in...

    109 Expedition rig build

Well, I just got back from a test drive with the 109 and the new 4.88 gears in the back. I think we have a winner. I only did about 8 miles and will let them cool off and do another 12-15 tomorrow and let them cool off again, but the feel really really good. I still need to put the gears in...

Just clean them up best you can, wash them with brake cleaner and have at it.

Not to rub salt but I'm curious...What does Bill get for a Rover diff set up with an ARB and 4.10s and a set of axles? There aren't any prices on his site.

Made it from scratch. A dozen rolls of wire and a soldering iron.

Good news on Guy Fawkes. We may be going to Ottawa that weekend but nothing's in stone. By the way, two sets of 4.88s, minor install kits and gaskets including shipping were under $500. Another reason to run Toyota diffs.

Took the truck for a good ride this morning....Yes, I need gears. Just got off the phone with Marlin Crawler and now have a pair of 4.88 ring and pinions on the way. They had the cheapest price I could find on-line. When I called them they said that price was wrong but honored it all the...

Keith is very right about this. At best the Rover diffs are questionable but with a heavy truck or anything but moderate off-roading you're looking for trouble. It's not a question of if, it's a question of when a diff is going to fail. I think Bill does good work but he's limited with a...

Who? Me? Sounds like a good time, even with the crazy Mormons. One beer at a time? Are you kidding?

Wendy and I rented a Jeep (yes, a Jeep) from Farabees in Sedona when we were on our honeymoon. Nice people. I was talking the guy up for a while and when he realized I wasn't some schmuck from back east he told me where the good trails were. Had a great day.

Relatively cheap and easy. Like I said, if that's the worst of it, I'm lucky. It'll take some road time to see exactly how it feels. I'll bum around town for a couple weeks before I start pulling axles.
