LOL I guess the experts in the field out there are also full of nonsense then.
Did you ask the "engineers" about actual 4x4 trails or just gravel roads because the tires they build are not just for looks. I was never talking to you about the forest roads where a stock subaru can also go.
I...
Maybe you just have reading comprehension issues. Where did I say "can't go below 20psi" ? Oh, nowhere.
As for your "touched gravel" BS. I never said anything remotely like that so it is clear you have trouble understanding what people tell you after you ask for their help.
I think you...
LOL now you "go a lot farther and further off road than most" ? Most who? If you were such an expert, maybe you shouldn't have text me so many questions last summer. Everything works great until it doesn't so your experience for 6 months on an SL is pretty much an anecdotal irrelevancy.
All...
What is your issue? I never said anything remotely like that. Enough with the slander. You don't know ******** about this, came to me for help. I was very open and tried to share what I've learned over texts between us for 3 months last summer but you feel the need to slander me here. Good luck...
10 is way too low for the heavy lr3 on factory wheels and the sizes we can use. Even 15 is pushing your luck and not even getting you much benefit in snow. 20 is really around the bottom for an lr3 unless for just a tight spot.
I've only experimented with these things for 20 yrs now though...
Possibly a bit of overgeneralizing and semantics but the point is that an SL is not as good of an overall choice than something built to handle more.
An SL tire for off road use under a 6000 lb vehicle would probably be considered a very unwise choice by every professional in the 4x4 world...
There are also the rally spec 18's being brought in by Mainliine overland. They are 18x8 which IMO is a better choice than the 8.5" compomotive. Plus there are more color choices. The Evo corse is also 8.5 for the 18". I was confused because the 17" are 8" wide.
the ko2 works great at low psi but you'll need to read up on psi vs vehicle weight. basically for a stock lr4 at 6000 lbs, 20 is fine but you could go as low as 13-15 depending on the tire size. there are formulas for this but that range will get you through most situations. you have to be...
This is one of the coolest awnings FYI, fully self supporting and optional side walls make rooms with choice of any 3 walls on or off at a time.
Do you not have the side walls? The standard walls will land no where near the ground if awning is mounted as high as yours. I have these awnings...
Oh I'm liking that, especially the fairing. I have a hannibal which is basically the same edge section and roughly that height off the roof and location from window edge. Finally, after 10 years of "$^%$&^%$&% that damn rack is too loud!" plus the rain and snow.
Agreed. With the height I chose, factory length strut setting which results in 2" higher running ground clearance in normal height selection mode, allowed the alignment to come right up to the maximum limits but still be corrected fully for the changes. Setting the struts even to 10mm less...
You have to get knowledgeable on the rotor sizes and know exactly what a NAS lr4 has both front and rear. For example, my lr3 had slightly larger rear rotors. I switched mine to the v6 lr3 gas engine spec that allow a factory 17 to fit. They are probably the same size as the lr3 v6 tdi. So...
not to muck up this thread too much so i'd say go there, see what's useful.
Most of his build is not to my taste but like all of these, you might find a thing that works or even get an idea to improve.
A propane tank is not light nor compact. An open flame cannot be vented away if it's 5F outside and you're trying to keep interior warm and without the added moisture that occurs with that type of flame.
Like I said, they live in it and have 1000 watt supply on the roof that also functions as...
So, Paddy, and Fresh, I like the simple pop it in-pop it out of the galley but I go out in cold/winter a lot so cooking inside with propane is not such a great idea. It would add a lot of expense but I saw a guy who's business is solar. He had 2x 500w panels on the roof you could walk on. One...
And Hannibal. I have enjoyed mine on 2 rovers. The slats with inset mounting slot for upside down bolt run front to rear so less noise and the side rails are fairly standard allowing the Hannibal and other awnings. Aluminum of course.
