    LR3 Coil spring conversion kit

Basically a terrible plan considering the angle that would put into the axle/hub connection. Anything more than about 2" over stock cannot be properly aligned either. 2.5 maybe about max but I be that's pushing it to just out of spec. As mentioned by others, the higher it is set, the more it...

Don't go out alone - and bring your recovery gear.

Had you invited me, I'd have also brought doughnuts along so stuck or not, the event would've been better ;) I'd love to join you sometime. I finally have a few things taken care of like putting in new starter, repaired a front strut, sealed windscreen cowl.

    2008 Land Rover LR3 on 35"s - Refurbish/Rebuild Thread

LOL You may or may not have seen someone else with the ones I have which were by a short lived team to build something when literally nothing else existed yet called Rover Specialties. Not a bad name and a solid as hell design with better than expected fabrication quality. Each side is 100...

    2008 Land Rover LR3 on 35"s - Refurbish/Rebuild Thread

That bumper is great! The ARB is a primary contact point where yours is not even there seeing as how it's tucked much further in. Now let's see the rear which has a lot more travel built in. You must also have the sliders cut back right? That's where it would be impossible on mine. These...

    Duratracs

The articulation, during slow trail mode with objects pushing one side upwards a lot higher, wouldn't be affected much but it would somewhat. Nobody ever seems to consider that it would always be less stable on steep side slopes due to the center of gravity effectively set closer to the tip...

    Duratracs

Johnson scam site wants you to buy stuff more than anything else, hence all the sizes that laughably “require” the modified rods. The rod mod is in fact not “required” for any size unless you’re using the strut spacers. A 2” version rod is then ironically required to offset the effect of the...

    2008 Land Rover LR3 on 35"s - Refurbish/Rebuild Thread

Here it is definitely on the strut spacers. Obviously the front wheel travel is much less though.

    2008 Land Rover LR3 on 35"s - Refurbish/Rebuild Thread

mid love to see a photo of those “fit in the wheel wells”. Seriously I want to see because I cannot envision how it honestly “fits” without being able to tuck up under the top of the wheel arch.... unless I’m completely forgetting that my test was done without the strut spacers on. still, the...

    2008 Land Rover LR3 on 35"s - Refurbish/Rebuild Thread

Best size is 285/70-18, not the 1" wider section 12.5 due to obvious reasons. On a factory offset 18x8, they 100% fit in every scenario under full flex and turning as well as tested with zero air in struts. Strut spacers of course (and rods but only for purpose of satisfying the height...

    Rank my shopping list

and the lr3 has more places to put stuff in the front console and dash areas. 1-lr3, rubber mat ledge at nav screen, lr4 - slick sloped surface 2-lr3 between both center cup holders nice rubber mat you can remove to wash, nothing on lr4. LR4, dumbest front console of any land rover ever LOL...

Help me Pick Lift and Tires

None, as in 0 lift, is the ideal amount. Now, to be clear, I am meaning for full time use. The very best height to be rolling all the time, and especially on the highway is the factory standard height. On a trail, you honestly have to get into rather rugged stuff to truly need more than the...

Help me Pick Lift and Tires

You're going to die using P tires ;) Just kidding, really. I made my recomendations to you assuming everyone ends up with a super heavy build. My reason for this post is to ask if you've gotten to do Naches top to bottom/eastbound ? An lr3 won't fit through the western-most end which is also...

    275/65r-18 BFG KO2 on LR3?

ah ok, i was wondering. my spacers are still on because i was lazy last time changing out from the winter set and mine clear all the rub points. I get used to the look and then when the spacers come off it seems weird LOL

    275/65r-18 BFG KO2 on LR3?

Why are you using a spacer? No need for that on the lr3 and it only makes most of the clearance issues worse such as the frame horns. I admit that flush tires do look cool though.

Back in a Rover again, mild LR3 build

oops, "not" running a fridge... LOL I misread Well, it's been awesome to jump-start myself a few times simply by flipping a switch from standard to combine without even opening the hood.

Back in a Rover again, mild LR3 build

Running a fridge without house battery is asking to be stuck wherever you use the fridge. For example, if you have the lights coming on each time a door opens and the radio playing, in the time it takes to pack up for a big trip you can kill the starter battery. If you use a fridge without...

Should I buy this 03 D2 as my first rover?

I have all 3. MY D2 gives me the biggest grin to drive probably because it's just snappy enough but also still like the older feel of solid axles. It also seems a lot less rust prone than the D1. My D2 04 has less than 90k on it though and the D1 243,000. The D1 still starts strong every...

    275/65r-18 BFG KO2 on LR3?

The requirement occurs at 275/65-18. It also is more apparent on truer/larger actual molds of that size. For example, my BFG AT ko2 are visibly smaller than same size Michelin MS2 and the first time I noticed it being a big issue was going from the 'no problem' size of 265/65-18 BFG at ko1 to...
