All you have to do for a general idea is look at Tire Rack choices under BFG 17 vs 19. It's not even a contest.

Your reply is proof you have difficulty in comprehending the point of a topic. Your life must be very blissful LOL

There are in fact MANY 17" tiree choices for off road use so lumping them in with 19" is not even close.

This was interesting to see. I had no idea and actually assumed the LR3's good sales numbers just kept going. My guess is our recession did not help with that considering it's price point and fuel use.

Dude, you are not understanding apparently. Duh, of course larger rotors help provide more braking power but that is the cheapest route and the reason why that is the choice. More sidewall in the tires is BETTER than less. There are only two ways to get that obviously and Land Rover chose not...

Unless I missed something, the new Defender can be bought with 18" wheels can it not? If it cannot, it is literally a non-serious toy.

Agreed, what you wrote is ".....nonsense not based in reality." LOL A. The path to more braking power is not solely "bigger"/larger rotors. Commonly more pistons and/or higher grade rotors and pads are the best choice, not the cheapest like Land Rover chooses. B. Larger tires are of course...

I'm reminded of the Land Cruiser 200 series IFS "bolt on" kits comprised of UCA, diff drop, etc. I wish there were a kit for the lr3/4/rrs for a "diff drop" and longer travel struts and/or new UCA, hell while wishing longer length control arms so the resulting travel AT the tire would incease...

LC200 might be the replacement in few yrs for when I need to move on from the LR3.

LR3/LR4 owners: What height do you set your suspension?

No, I don't think you followed what I wrote somewhere else or I'm just confused here. I don't use the GAP tool to preset any factory height but I am also unclear on what you're asking because I have never mentioned using a +20mm. The only 20mm mode I have is minus (-20mm) via the LLAMS switch...

LR3/LR4 owners: What height do you set your suspension?

Do you still have this vehicle or do you remember the GAP program? I am annoyed with not being able to get into slammed height when desired for parking garages without the system trying to automatically lift back up to extended height because it's sensing a bottoming on the strut bump stops.

LOL are you serious?! Pretty digital renderings are 100% irrelevant without measurements compared to LR3/4. To be clear with you, I am interested in it's dimensions, not if you think it's plenty of space for your needs or if you like it, etc. Are there any real data out yet on the few key...

So I only now read a few of the posts and find it funny that my main issue with the new Defender is mostly functional use of space and it's lack of size. I was excited about the D5 until I saw it's energy efficient but space deficient EGG shape and idiotic lift gate removing many uses of a long...

That wasn't my point but I guess it's the subject in the thread here. The Naches trail "leads somewhere" so that is the only one around here I can think of with some true degree of ruggedness. Actually now that I'm remembering places, there are some out by Winthrop that are of course just...

    LR3 block heater

He did not mention a $100 option.... what is yours? I think for many vehicles it's cheap but maybe he only found some involved one or it's due to the engine area design. Still, my mom drives around Grand Marais area without one for years on 4 different vehicles and never mentioned being stuck...

I think you've been to Evan's Creek ORV off that gravel road to Mowich Lake but what about Elbe ORV ? There are some at Elbe that will get your attention. We went one evening just as a quick thing and found "Rainier Vista" that had a cool rocky hill along its otherwise nice road...

    LR3 block heater

To echo @DiscoNels , it's basically a non-issue whatsoever. I visit Grand Marias during winters and one time, in my 96 disco it was litterally -30's for a week one january. It always started and the lr3 is even better at it. However, a dual battery is IMO a better choice than blowing $$$ on...

    LLAMS goes full Viagra

Well, too bad you didn't "@" me! I just found this, 3 years late LOL merely because I googled "llams lr3" to see what I could find about why mine is goofing up recently after battery disconnect and suspension fiddling around. Looks like a re-calibrate is in order to see if that fixes it.

    LR3 Coil spring conversion kit

More like something simple that was made expensive by a dealer or went cheap on parts. I have not had one "failure" in 166,000 miles and it's a very heavy build. It may have the 2nd compressor, maybe even the 3rd, but I can swap one in less than an hour after removing the sliders which is...
