Yep aside from the spring mounts on the frame which you can get new. I didn't go into great detail but there's more info about it in my "Home Depot...." build thread (link below). I should note that I swapped a 2008 so I'm not sure if this is the case for older or newer models.

The 4x4 conversion is super easy on Ford trucks because everything bolts right on. It's nothing like a van conversion.

The subfloor is in and I started on the the back. I'll be adding foam to the floor to bring it up to the bottom of the door. Can't remember if it's 1.5" or 2" but either way it'll be plenty. There will be enclosures for the hydraulic rams on the left and right and a recess for the spare tire in...

I'll probably go with Option 2. I think the larger "bulb" will have more leeway for movement and small variations in the seam.

Mounting a composite camper box on 4x4 E350 chassis

Will you have a large pass through into the box or will the box be separate like the Transit above?

I could add a rail at the top but I think it'll be easier and more adjustable if I just pull the canvas tight and use screws. I do like your idea and I may try it depending on how well the sewing goes for the lower rail. I have a good sewing machine but lack a good working area for such a...

I've got some catching up to do..... Quick side note for anyone drilling hundreds of holes in aluminum or anything really. Put a rubber vacuum cap on the bit so the chuck doesn't mar the aluminum when drilled through (y) Next was the front roof panel. This one will be more visible so I...

Thanks for the compliments, they're very much appreciated. I always see the flaws in what I build which I guess helps me try to improve next time around... always learning.

Here are the window sizes and info. I know the window pricing but I'm still working on the shipping and import tariff fees. If you or anyone is interested, let me know the sizes and qtys and I'll add them to my quote list.

I'm so excited about these windows. I can't stand the types of RV windows sold in the U.S. so I ordered these direct from the manufacturer in China. I'm working on putting together a larger order to save on shipping so if anyone is interested let me know and I can send you more info and size...

Thank you. Yeah when I saw the truck for sale I knew I had to have it. I look pretty much every day and rarely see anything like it. I have been told they do pop up on dealer auctions quite often but I guess people just buy them and keep them. The Merkel is a "Tribute" bike I built 10 or so...

I didn't get as many pics as I should have but here's the roof panel install. The original plan was to fully assemble the sandwich panels and then install them from the inside but that would leave an 1/8" lip around each panel that would hold water so I decided to installed the foam with the...

Here's how the Keder Rail works. I plan to use this around the bottom and use screws around the top so I can pull it tight.

Yeah like DzlToy said, it's the extrusion to mount the fabric in. It's normally used around the bottom edge of awnings. I plan on using Sunbrella or similar awning/marine fabric so it should all work well together.

Thanks and nice to see you over here. I've built a few more motorcycles since then but have sorta moved on to campers now. Campers are so much more fun and less stressful than bikes :giggle:

Yeah I agree a ridge in the roof would be a good idea but since I've already installed the cross supports I'm going with flat. I was going to install the composite panels on the inside of the roof frame but that would leave and1/8" lip around the perimeter for water to sit it so now I'm...

Great weekend of work. I got the lower part of the frame finish welded and decided to mock up a piece of angle to see if a clamshell top would work. It is a little tight up front but I think it'll work. The bed will extend into the box a ways so there should be enough room. Maybe I'll put some...

Making some good progress. All the beveled pieces are installed on the lower part and now I'm working on getting the top angle in place so I can start on the pop top. I haven't decided if it'll be a full pop top or just a clamshell. I'm leaning towards clamshell for simplicity but I'll have to...
