    A little overwhelming...

Regarding 2nd row seat removal and fridge tie down: No plywood needed although that sounds nice enough. There are places you can run a strap through the two outboard seats and then through the handles on the fridge to tie it down. A bulky ratchet version is not at all required but a metal...

    BFG T/A KO2 in 275/55/20 on LR4

Yes, it is in fact, less safe. Simply put, higher is less stable than stock without a rebuilt suspension design. Raising the struts some doesn't improve the handling. In fact, reducing the engineered suspension movement, worsens the situation even though it may feel better. That effect is...

    BFG T/A KO2 in 275/55/20 on LR4

Who, me ? :costumed-smiley-007 Well, when you can easily raise and lower on the fly, it's easy to get spoiled, but I didn't like the idea of the rods since they first came onto the scene. I made some and tried the height and found that I could actually get the same height, if seriously...

    BFG T/A KO2 in 275/55/20 on LR4

It handles "differently" because you are using the vehicle at a height for which it was not designed to be driven during highway speeds. That tire size make little difference in the handling. It's running those rods all the time that is the problem as well as a reduction in safety.

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

Being from MN north shore, I thank you for that photo ;) What's on your roof? I have 2 green "waffle boards" most of the time as they make a decent standing platform as well as being useful for RTT camping leveling or outdoor shower flooring.

    LR3 ARB rear diff lock

Unless a person puts a higher priority on all other aspects like color combinations, mileage, service history, condition, price, etc. It's simple enough now to add a locker and the axles for under $2000 including labor.

2016 RR diesels will cost $1500 extra

but did you get any ideas on the body shape? I care a lot more about that than the engine choices. If its basically a bigger Disco SPort, then I'll be done with the brand unless a 110 sized Defender ends up here and decent.

    LR3 ARB rear diff lock

About the rear, do you mean some sort of HD version?

Going to look at a used '08 LR3 in an hour...

"except for" in what way do you mean? The brakes are very, very good and also last me a long time.

    BFG T/A KO2 in 275/55/20 on LR4

It's hard to see which tire model that is. I am sure people would like to hear from you. Nevermind, I found it. You have the Toyo Open Country MT: http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/open-country-mt-off-road-maximum-traction-tires?cat=10 I correctly assumed that if they had such a small...

    LR3 ARB rear diff lock

Do you all carry front and/or rear driveshafts for the lr3? The shop says that could be my driveline vibration culprit but I am quite sure the dealer price on the shaft is not what I'll want to pay. It seems that even factory "genuine" parts are often much cheaper from other sources.

    LR3 ARB rear diff lock

I've heard the factory version also uses a heavy duty axle. Could be a good idea to swap that when installing an ARB air locker.

    Compomotive Wheels?

Did you choose the actual complete arms because all the items needed are already pressed into place or is there some reason you needed or wanted the steel parts? It seem the same result should be available by only changing out the bushings and bearings?

    Compomotive Wheels?

I would not say that the larger engine required "bigger" brakes. More speed may be better paired with more stopping power, however, LARGER sized brakes are not what is needed. MORE stopping power can be had by smaller brakes, the company just went with what is cheap to produce. Take for...

    LR3 ARB rear diff lock

What do you mean "built out" and "ready to install" ? ARB sells them as ready as I expect ? Obviously I am missing what you're meaning...

air suspension fun and games, LR3

I will be interested in seeing how badly a true 33" grinds into the slider or trim between tire and lower front door of the body. I am pretty sure that it will also be almost actually touching at the rear mudguard. I think 265/70x18 is the real ideal size but I also want to push the limit by...

    Compomotive Wheels?

You didn't expressly state it but I'll assume the tighter photo is only with the compo wheel mounted directly to hub and wider gap is plus the 30mm spacer. What is the difference between factory wheel offset and compo offset? I figure it must be in the 20mm range? It seems like you could have...

    Compomotive Wheels?

You appear to be making the assumption that at "full lock" would be the tightest situation between the tire and UCA. This is not true at all. The tightest situation is during full drop of the wheel, or extension of the strut, depending on how you like to think of it. At normal ride height...
