    Rango.....1942 Willys MB

My inner dialogue would probably scare most people... I haven't decided on a good trip yet. I just trying to get some more miles on it now, tuning stuff, and finishing off some of the small projects that I bypassed when I built it. All in all I am pretty happy with it. There is still a lot...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

Yup, Durango... Shoot me a PM when you firm up some dates. Yes, its tough :) The Willys is finally getting to the point I can get some miles on it. I thought the Dodge got a lot of attention, its a stealth vehicle compared to the Willys. I swear I am going to cause a wreck driving the Willys...

I hope diesel drops in price here a little bit! It's warm enough that I can run a high percentage of blend or BioDiesel now also.

    Project Mini Hägglund

Have you looked at the track design that the Howe brothers came up with one there go-fast tank thing? That was originally a hand fab thing that ended up going pretty well. There original one was called the 'ripsaw' if I remember correctly. If you need LOTS of the same part cut out of...

Thanks! Willys style? Too cold, too hot, scared your going to break down at any minute, or roll over backwards....or forwards? I too am looking forward to a bit lower gearing. The 4.30s are fine for getting some miles on it. I really think in the long term some 5.38s would probably be the way...

I tried making a PDF version of the mounting template I used from the Solidworks drawing. It didn't scale correctly however in the conversion. I will try and mess with it today a bit if I get a chance. If you need one or two I can print them out and mail them to you if you drop me an address...

The only plans for a radio are a CB of some kind some day. I just want something really small and out of the way. I have my tech license so my handi-talkie is never far away..... That is kinda a funny questions though. This Willys MB was a radio version at some point. There is the PTO port on...

I have a nice set of Autometer gauges going back in the original holes......tach, oil pres, water temp, volts, and a vacuum gauge. All the other holes, I just don't know. I should probably work on welding them up and drilling new holes for the switches I need where I really want to put them...

    U JOINT Question...

Tough call. I would probably soak it in PB blaster or something for a few days. I always tap the cap towards the middle or inside to help free up the clip a little bit. A little heat wouldn't be a bad thing either since your going to replace the joint anyways.

Yeah, it's funny, sometime I basically forget that I have a super cool flat fender in the garage. I don't really have to go in there every day. Every time I do its like.....dang, there is a cool little Jeep in the garage! I have a leak between my transmission and transfer case that is being a...

AEV/Burnsville 3.0L Diesel JK Conversion Kit

I think it probably depends where you live and if you do the swap yourself... Where I live, no problem.

AEV/Burnsville 3.0L Diesel JK Conversion Kit

From what I understand the 2.8 CRD in current trim is pressing the existing 6spd manual pretty hard. I think the manual CRD wranglers are detuned to a lower torque?

Ways to Increase the Jeep JK Payload

I agree basically. A trip across town over GVW a few times a year is one thing.....operating every day over GVW off pavement would be another.

The transmission used in the EU 2011+ Grand Cherokee 3.0 VM diesel is that same as the current 2012 JK with the Pentastar. It should just bolt up....

AEV/Burnsville 3.0L Diesel JK Conversion Kit

From what I understand the V8 is a stretch for crash standards in the JK. That could be one of the reasons we didn't see an inline 4cyl (or V8) in the USA?

    Knife thread

Sharp things! This is one of my semi-new projects. I had an older Becker BK2 Campanion way back when. I ventured off into the land of custom knives for a bit but recently returned to my roots with a new model BK2 built by KaBar under the Becker name. It is still the same great knife...
