Tulsa man builds 70 foot sailboat in his front yard

Plans to sail the world doing marine research and working wherever his travels take him. He cast his own propellers, poured 10,000 pounds of molten lead into the keels that he harvested over a three year period from wheel weights. He built his own blast furnace, ROV, rain water catchment system...

    chiptune dpf delete problems

An ISB, Allison and NV263 is about 84” long including accessories and yokes. Weight is about 1700 pounds for all three together. 263 is the push button case, so no levers in the floor, could do the same with a 273 to LCT 1000 if you wanted that instead. EFI Live and Zeus give you ECM and...

NPR 4wd conversion and camper build thread.

6BT stock or turned up? Concerned about MPG? The stock engines in these things do not like high speed or high RPM, at least not for passing power or good MPG. With a 6BT and Allison, that is a different story. I think a 37" tire is perfect for these trucks, if for no other reason...

NPR 4wd conversion and camper build thread.

Matt decided on 4.56 for his NPR due to the gas engine. RPM calculations for his 35" tires are posted in the thread if you want to see them. A 6BT is usually happiest about 1600 - 1900 RPM. A 37" tire runs well on a 4.10 in a diesel with an average O/D, so a 3.73 would be OK with a 35" tire...

NPR 4wd conversion and camper build thread.

Did I understand correctly that you are planning to push the front axle forward 10"? That seems significant in a cab over truck, especially with large wheels and tires. Since you are remaking the rear suspension, would it be better to move the axle and camper to get where you need to be? I am...

Monstaliner and Duraback can both be rolled on. I am sure the former is UV stable and colourable, not sure about the latter.

    Canter Regearing.

What is the gearing in your transfer case? A mate of mine is "creating" an NPS, since we don't get them here and I have located a medium duty divorced transfer case with a 2.72:1 low range and a 1:1 high range. Advance Adapters offers their famous Atlas transfer case in several versions...

    Vario project started

Did you purchase the foam pre-cut for the hydronic heating loops or was each piece cut to fit? I have always liked the Vario trucks, too bad they are not readily available in the States.

    Canter Regearing.

I don't think the 4.2 was available in the States, only 3.9 (4D34) and 4.9 (4M50). For the latter, peak torque is flat from 1800 - 2500 and peak HP is about 2700. At 3000 rpm, you are down significantly on both HP and TQ. Further, that is a very inefficient RPM, with regard to volumetric...

    Dual purpose NPR 4x4 build

Matt has it all laid out and was planning to get the front axle powder-coated this week, along with some other parts, so maybe he will chime in with his design. I know we looked at high steer arms and cross-over steering from the rock crawling world, but I don't remember what was decided. Final...

    1017a camper/tiny house buIld

I have a small alcohol stove that I use for backpacking and it works great for those trips, as long as the weather is not too cold. I am not sure that I would want either in a tiny house unless they were to be sealed off from the living space. If it's not too much trouble, I would get the Wallas...
