    $200,000 vehicle budget

It sounds like you may need a 4WD SUV and Hilton Honours card :D There is a reason that many Europeans drive small cars (think SMART car) and many southeastern Asian cities are packed with scooters and mopeds. Where are you going? Driving or parking a large camper in a city center is going to...

Fuso 4x4 Crew Cab in USA

If you want a Fuso in a crew cab 4x4, they are relatively easy to convert. The key is to start with a 2WD truck, which uses the Aisin 68RC transmission from the Dodge 3500 chassis cab. After changing the tail shaft to a 4WD housing, the factory Dodge or any number of aftermarket transfer cases...

Fuso Composite Camper - Under Construction

After running into a few problems getting parts at the last minute, we pulled the plug on making the Overland Expo in Asheville. Additionally, the interested buyer could not produce funds, so the box is for sale. I will post pictures and details later this week. New flat bed on the FE140...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

That is a nice piece. Wish you guys were headed to NC instead of Cali. Offroad Expo in Pomona is a fantastic show if you have never been. I went about 4-5 years ago and had a blast. It is tough to see everything in just two days.

Fuso Composite Camper - Under Construction

Ironically, there was a Morgan reefer box on the truck we are using for mock up, when it was purchased. It was quite heavy and too large, so it was sold. We considered starting with another Morgan box, but they are SO heavy. Our completed camper is projected to weigh about half of what an empty...

Fuso Composite Camper - Under Construction

Made a bit of progress today (26 SEP), getting some trim installed, burned through a few tubes of SIKA and used up a few of our German stainless screws. Red Oak blocks have been inserted and bonded into the panel for holding a 4" stainless steel screw. The panel edges are then sealed with SIKA...

Fuso Composite Camper - Under Construction

There are numerous companies building all sorts of composite panels. Finding a good one that you can work with to build panels to your specs at a reasonable price is tough. Composite panels are used in residential construction, commercial refrigeration, boat hulls, campers, truck bodies and who...

Fuso Composite Camper - Under Construction

Roof trim bonded and screwed into place. Three layers of roof coating already sprayed on, two more to dto. Trim and SIKA are used to seal everything up, in addition to the spray coatings, so there are no concerns with dust coming in, water intrusion (leaks, mold, rot, etc). This also keeps out...

Fuso Composite Camper - Under Construction

For the last few weeks, I have been helping a friend of mine build this camper box in his shop. We are planning to bring it to OvEx in a few weeks and park it in the Featured Vehicle area. This is a bit of a side project for us, so it may take a while to complete and updates may be infrequent...

Where to buy a square mog? Advice?

Being "for hire" has nothing to do with the qualifications for or requirements for a CDL. The GENERAL rules are (check your STATE CODES AND STATUTES FOR CLARIFICATION) If you are driving a truck that exceeds 26,000 pounds, you need a CDL If you are driving a truck that is under 26,000...

Where to buy a square mog? Advice?

Ian, I agree with what you say that a Mog is not for speeding down the highway. Though I have never owned one, I have driven a friend's U1250 a few times and it was not even "truck" fast, let alone fast enough to keep up with interstate travel required for a 2-3 day trip. In the US, it is QUITE...
