3rd Gen 4Runner…. The next thing

Yeah. could Be they got a piece of trash in the sensor hole during install. And if they had to get rough in the very least it may be damaged. I see that pretty often. And I mean it doesn’t even have to take a direct hit. Banging near it can cause it to fail. Especially at 25 years old. Our shop...

    Chaser #14. New adventures

I didnt notice you had Homer. Checking it out was one of the trailers that originally had me looking for a 416. One of these days I'll talk my buddy back out of it . And I dont even know why.

    Chaser #14. New adventures

Love these trailers. Sold my 416 to a friend. Regret. He has done it up nice though. SoCal teardrop 6 years ago and still love it. Even though we didn’t use 416 anymore I still wish I had it back.

So, I looked at a 62 for sale today

I passed. Seemed like about $4k to me in true value. I think it’s still sitting in the same place. Got work that needs to be done to both 4Runners anyway. Plus, I‘d rather be out mountain biking or camping than working on some rusty project car to maybe drive once or so a month. The right...

So, I looked at a 62 for sale today

Yeah. People asking big money for these things. But I don’t really see many actually bringing big money. In my eyes in reality this is about $4k to $4.5k truck. Add to that, I absolutely love my 3rd gen 4runner and only get to drive it a few times a month. 75 mile commute to work. 04 Corolla for...

So, I looked at a 62 for sale today

I’ve wanted a Land Cruiser for a long time. This one came up for sale locally and I went to check it out. Some rust here and there but nothing terrible. The frame is pretty crusty but no perforation. New tires and battery. AC doesn’t work. 195k miles. Runs and drives great. 4wd works. I think...

How many of you ACTUALLY overland with your 80s or 60s

I’ve wanted a Land Cruiser ever since I did my first Pre Delivery Inspection on a 60 way back in 1986 at the dealer I worked at then. Left there for a while and have been at a Toyota dealer again for the past 21 years. Still don’t have my Land Cruisers. Have ahead a 2nd gen 4runner and currently...

Harmonic vibration-not the kind my wife likes

This. Unfortunately it‘s pretty common on this gen Taco. There was a warranty extension a few years back. Probably expired now. Check the VIN at the dealer. Or if you want to send me the VIN I’ll be happy to check for you.

Drive to Arctic Circle in “high miles” 4th Gen 4Runner

160k wouldn’t bother me at all if even halfway taken care of. Ours has 220k on it and drive it anywhere right now. 4.7 is about bullet proof. Might not be a bad idea to lock the center diff just to make sure it works, and maybe even lock in the 4low. They tend to stick sometimes. Don’t do it...

Remove passenger seat and airbag issues

Why not remove the back seat and put the fridge there? Don’t go jumping wire on the air bag system. That thing go off and injure you and be very costly to fix.

    Expert opinion needed?

Good luck with that. We have a $400 Yeti (was a gift), a Rural King knock and a cheapo Igloo or Coleman or whatever it is. I comment every time, we have to feed them all 3 pretty much the same diet of ice. When one needs some, they all do. Now, I’m bad about not latching the lids on the Yeti and...

    Time for new rubber

New BFGs on. Rides and drives so much better and quiet. Even though they are the same size as the the KOs , they are considerably taller. 2 inches or so. Going to have to trim the corner off the other side of the lower front valance.
