Best way to secure a Max Coupler hitch when leaving the trailer in camp for the day

If Im in a regular campground I just throw the hitch assembly in the back of the 4runner and leave the teardrop. Otherwise yeah, locking pin and then assembly with me. Some guys use a wheel lock also. I have thought of adding that just for maybe safer keeping.

Should I build my 3rd gen or start with a new platform?

I dont see anything there I'd be too concerned with. Front bumper bracket maybe a little rough, but I would worry with that. Rock on.

Should I build my 3rd gen or start with a new platform?

Only part of that I'd be concerned with is rust. Leaking VC gasket is standard equipment on 3.4. Do the rear cam seal when you do it or you'll still have a leak. Have a new key cut, if it needs a cylinder thats not a bad job either. It may or may not need to have the key programmed after. If you...

    2nd Gen 4Runner

I had a 91 about 10 years ago. 3.0 stick shift. Loved that truck. Upgraded the wife from her 3rd gen to a 4th gen. Sold the 91 and took over the 97.

2018 4Runner rear brake pads worn out in 15K miles...twice! Is this normal?

No. That's not normal. I'll check tomorrow, but a TSB for premature break wear seems familiar. Not saying there is, but seems like I remember something,

    Are 285s worth it?? Update

As stated, I only drive it 5k-7k miles a year. It is about money. One mod always leads to another. Bigger tires and lifts and weight take a toll on the longevity of the vehicle. If it weren't about money it would already have new 285s, 4.88s and maybe even a reman supercharged 3.4. Had this...

    Are 285s worth it?? Update

Been running 285/75s on my 3rd gen 4Runner for about 5 years. It's our camping, local trail truck. Has Sonoran Steel 1.2A lift. The 3.4 is an awesome engine, but 3rd gens are slugs even in stock form. Add some heavy 285s and I just don't know about being a daily anymore. Again, I don't have to...

    Change your security lug nuts.

Wow. I just told my buddy @jgatliff last weekend to take the ones off his 4 runner. These things blow. The key is always lost and even if it's not they are nearly impossible to get off with the factory lug wrench. Popular add on at the dealership. Add $30 to $60 bucks to every new car you sell...

4th Gen 4Runner leveling with ride comfort

http://www.sonoransteel.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_17&products_id=2 I've driven a truck with this set up on it and it road really well. Softer than OME for sure. Just not a fan of the level myself, but to each his own. Running 265/70/17 on our 4th gen with no lift. Speedometer...

How do you haul mountain bikes on a trailer with a RTT?

Put a receiver on the back of the trailer. Get a riser hitch insert if needed to get them up higher.
