Make sure if you need a title for your state, that the seller gives you the title, not the SF-97. The SF-97 is only applicable to the original buyer from the government (who then has to get a title) and will be of no use to you.
If it has 5 lug wheels it is either an m116 or m116a1. If it has 8 lug wheels it is either an m116a2 or m116a3. If you post a pic I can tell you which model you've got.
That is the same on the m116 and m116a1 trailers, turn the lugnuts toward the back of the trailer to take them off, toward the front to tighten them. Later m116a2s and m116a3s use all right hand lugnuts.
There is not a rotating lunette setup designed for this series trailer, but with some modifications you could add one, or a different off road hitch. You could also get or make a rotating pintle setup for your vehicle for off road articulation.
Regarding the tires, although you are pretty...
The lunette on an m116 trailer does not rotate, as the shaft is oval shaped. You may be thinking of the 1/4 ton trailers like the m100 or m416, which do have rotating lunettes.
The lunette on an m116 trailer does not swivel, you can change the offset by hammering it out and rotating it 180 degrees then reattaching it. If you do remove the lunette put some grease in there to keep it from getting seized in the future. The truck it was designed for had a rotating pintle...
The m416a1 is the later trailer with surge brakes. The m416b1 has lifting hoops, but this is just a regular m416 with the hoops added. Still a good deal at $500 though.
Yep, m1009s use the same rotating pintle as the pickups. The 4 bolt pattern is the same as regular pintle hooks so with a little work you could modify a riser plate for it.
It's not an m101a3 or m1101, it looks like the DRASH trailers. It's meant to be towed with a HMMWV. The surge brake system is similar to the m101a2/m101a3/m416a1; it uses similar parts but the housing will not interchange.
