I posted a set of 5-315/75R16 GY Duratracs on 8x6.5 ATX Mojave wheels in the classifieds. They would make a great starter setup for someone going vanning that would like to get into some aftermarket alloys and 35" tires without breaking the bank.
The wheels are alloy American Racing ATX Mojave Teflon finish. Size: 16x8, offset 0, backspacing 4.5.
The 315/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs have 25k on them with tread depth varying from 10/32 to 11/32". E-rated with a load rating of 3650lb at 65psi.
Mounted and balanced and ready to...
Yeah, you don't want the one from a van with a 6.0. It's 1/5th the size of the F series cooler. If you go with the F series 6.0 cooler there are two options. I've read that the 26 row will fit better in the 7.3s but no real world experience...
Hi Merlin, I apologize I sold the bar a couple of days ago. I do have a new 50" curved light bar from Enspired Engineering that I'm going to list. If your interested shoot me a PM.
Thread bump! I noticed at the Overland Expo at the Equipt booth some sweet brackets to attach to the Aluboxes to the K9 rack. Not available on the website but hopefully ready for prime time in the near future.
Awesome story. Had a few similar adventures in my trusty 1978 4x4 Subaru wagon. I started it with a screwdriver and put 300,000 miles on the thing through two geology degrees and two engines. A dude from Farmington, NM bought it for $500 in 2007.
I'm curious how you kept breaking bones in a...
Why 17 and not 18"? I'm currently tire shopping and there are considerably more tire options with higher load ratings in 18". Pros and cons to either.
On an 8" wide 17" rim you want 4.5 backspacing with 0 offset.
Even if I was mainly doing gravel roads I'd still consider an all terrain...
True dat. But there is always a risk in buying used parts, especially when you don't physically pick it up yourself and inspect it. The blame game, however, benefits nobody and certainly has derailed what had been an awesome build thread. Rise from the ashes Gallivanter and keep the rubber...
yah, another bump for a cool van. And are those 35s or 37s on the 18" Method wheels?
Man, you guys are going to have a summer river season for the ages!
Just throwing it out there but when I upgraded to a D60 full floater it cost ~$300 for new Dana-Spicer gears and carrier bearings and $300 for the install (including an ARB locker) at a differential place in Phoenix. I sourced the axle from a salvage yard in Phoenix for $500 with 102,000 miles...
I got lost in all the details but the whole issue could have been avoided if you had gotten the BOM# from the salvage yard. They you could look up the axle in minutiae and know exactly what was in it before buying it. I get the frustration part but I also see how the operator made a mistake as...
You're going to need a lift to fit 33s or 35s. But if you're going to MgMetalworks I presume that's the reason? Either way, 4" works nice with 33s and 6" is better for 35s. And you will likely need some fender well trimming to fit the bigger tires. Nice score!
I think I will be happier with the 17s based simply on looks but hoping to get some 18 opinions. As far as the duratrac goes, my current set (315/75/16) have 40,000 miles on them and still have 10 to 11/32 tread depth. That's impressive on a 10,000lb van but they are not necessarily the cat's...
For those of you with heavy vans and e-rated 35" tires: Have you gone 17" and ended up wishing you'd gone with 18s or vice versa?
With a 17" you have more sidewall for airing down off-road but the tire choices are limited. The load ratings are less as well with most being 3195lb at 65psi...
You will be glad you did the ARPs when you start running the higher HP tunes just for peace of mind:Wow1:. Looks like you know you're way around the 6.0 for sure. I did a billet KCturbo billet wheel but eventually put in a stage 1.5. I also did the IPR kit as well as staying OEM on the oil...
Even an 18" wheel has that low profile look to me but then I could run an E rated Duratrac or Cooper S/T Maxx. But just the rims alone add up to more that $200 additional cost. Anyhow, the Duratrac is an awesome tire. Not bad at highway cruising and definitely more aggressive offroad than...
I have 35" Duratracs as well. Good tire for sure. I'm curious, however, you went D-rated?
I'm tire shopping and moving up to 17" wheels from 16s. Hard to make up my mind. There's far more tire options to choose from in an 18" wheel but I like more sidewall and less wheel. And then...
The part # for the updated fuel regulator kit for the van with a 6.0 is 4C2Z-9T517-AA. The F series is 3C3Z-9T517-AG. Not sure what's different between the two but you might be right about the cover plate.
