    MG Metalworks Van Build

Apologies if I sounded critical, that was not my intent. I know that you do top notch work and the plastic just seemed a bit out of place. Cheers

    '90 Mercedes 917 Camper Build

It may not be true for the Hondas that you get down under, but in the States, all EU1000 and EU2000 generators that we receive are made in China. Check out the Yamaha EF2000ISC. It is well reviewed and still made in Japan, while similar versions are made in China now, as well.

    MG Metalworks Van Build

Hopefully, it is just the pictures, but the base "covers" on those Sienna seats do not fit with the quality of the seat IMO. Can you cover them or paint them? Maybe it appears differently in person. I sat in a van at a car show a few years ago, just becuase of all the seat swap threads on here...

    Dual purpose NPR 4x4 build

Editing this again, rather than adding another post. The Ford D60 simply will not work. It is driver's side drop and high pinion, fouling many other components along the way, so it simply will not fit without majour surgery or majour lift or both. Fuso uses a roughly centered diff on the FG's...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Nah, don't need a bomb proof truck by any means, at least not literally. It came up in conversation with a mate of mine and we were looking at it from a sound deadening and insulation standpoint, as compared to standard single pane, non laminated automotive glass (econo-box, work truck, family...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Jeep, have you any experience in replacing OEM glass with a laminated or multi-layer glass? As you may well know, it is common to have this type of glass in luxury cars, but not trucks like Jeeps or Mitsubishi FG's. With the latter, the purpose could be three fold: you have a large flat...

Cordura Nylon is waterproof, windproof and breathable. It is available in many weights, written as "denier". It can also be purchased with a wicking layer, waterproof liner or almost any number of other combinations. It is not a very light fabric, so if you want a mesh type wall that is...

    UJOR Build Thread

Is there a separate build thread for it, Chris, or are you just dumping all of the updates in here? Would not mind seeing a build sheet of sorts after it's all done, since you guys are putting so much into it.

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

A word of caution on the ABS and UHMW, they have quite high coefficients of expansion and contraction.

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

The Toyota Prado in Oz is available with a 40 gallon tank and a diesel engine for the exact reasons you stated above. In the US, no diesel and only a 23 gallon tank because it's a flippin' soccer mom mobile here. What range do yo expect with 48 gallons over varied terrain (on/off road)?

    Mission Dawn Patrol

From my notes: 3M Automotive Thinsulate is a hydrophobic, non-woven, non-linting polymeric micro fiber. Therefore, it does not attract or hold moisture and is ideal for automotive and marine applications. I simply spray glued it to the back of the door and interior panels. Air spaces were...

Fine work sir. There is no icon for Canadian Whiskey, so here is a  instead.

Chris, have you guys looked at doing a full link suspension, possibly with air system? Leafs are simple and dead reliable, but links do offer more options for tuning, air bags, coils and/or coil overs, pinion angle adjustment with larger lift or suspension travel, etc. It certainly would not...

    The best adventure travel boots.

Bill, it may be too late now, but the main REI store in Atlanta has Zamberland boots in stock. I tried a pair on a few weeks ago, before I bought my Lowas and they were just a bit stiffer than I would like. I am an average size guy, so the extra stiffness and support may be better for someone...

    New Zealand Merino Wool

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to share with you a most excellent experience. I recently ordered a half dozen items from two companies in NZ, Ecowool and Swazi. Both provided excellent customer service, pricing and communication and the products are just fantastic, especially...

Switching my life to "not Jeans". Can I get some recomendations for good NON JEANS

Added a few companies to my list of quality, made in the USA products (Dirtball & Wickers), thanks For those who may be interested, with the exception of the two above and TAD, almost every pair of pants listed in this thread is made in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Afghanistan, etc. This...

    Foul weather and mud gear.

Did not have Acton on the list, thanks. Some Baffin Boots are still made in Canada. Nokian boots are made in Serbia and Slovakia now. I spoke with the US Distributor and she was astonished that I would prefer an original pair made in Finland, over something "new" made in Serbia.

    Foul weather and mud gear.

I had not heard of Tretorn, but had the other two in my notes already. Helly Hanson is a mixed bag, some items are made in China, but not all. Tretorn customer service in California was not sure if there were any products still made in Sweden. Their sneakers and wellies are made in China...

    Fuso options.

I do feel quite sorry for you blokes down under, who must deal with all of that nonsense. Here, you just take the seat to a mate's metal fab shop, mock everything up on some wood blocks, measure for a bracket, cut it out on the CNC plasma cutter and bolt the whole lot in place of the factory seat.
