Bump.

Weird timing. After I finished the snorkel install, I started mocking pieces for the same set-up. Same orientation for similar family reasons too. On mine though, I'm going to try some delrin-esque runners for the slides and see how that goes. Also, I'm going to try and incorporate a cup...

Yeah, I actually dropped a portion of the snorkel into the body void and had to use BBQ tongs to remove it...scars on my arm from that. Thankfully I had already deburred it all! I installed a safari snorkel on my XJ back in the day....that sucked bolting it on.

The responses I got from here and on MUD weren't the issue; all of the people were good to deal with. It was the 6 people in two days, 4 test drives and offers of $1000 less, with all the extra parts from locals on Craigslist that pissed me off. Besides, I can't get into another wagon vehicle...

So, MUD is a great resource, but there is so much information to wade through, and some of it is old enough that links have died or people have forgotten the knowledge. I'm doing this write-up, this very basic write-up, to help people out and give them some pointers and pictures as reference...

John E brings up some good points. Some of these kits have some pretty invasive items, and some pretty specific items. Unless you have the training to use the items, don't carry them just to be tacti-cool. The tendency appears to be that folks are looking at the all-encompassing "what-ifs?"...

Well, as of December of this year, it is still the ABCs. Unless it has been adpoted by local agencies, or by the NREMT, then I will follow my training, and if it changes, then I will adopt the new methodology.
