    Rango.....1942 Willys MB

I finally got most of the seat mounting brackets done. Overall the brackets turned out pretty simple, but it took FOREVER to finally decide on a seat angle and mounting height! Here is the passenger side mount. You can see the super short leg on the inside of the mount to work around the...

Power Wagon: Video, Pictures and Love

While I tend to agree being that most new diesel require urea, particulate filters, EGR, etc..... The 5.7 Hemi V8 doesn't really seem to have enough oomph to push around these big trucks especially loaded down with the typical gear you might find on this board. I really love my old dodge but...

Power Wagon: Video, Pictures and Love

I would be really tempted to do that too.....you can order the powerwagon axle assemblies easy enough. Even with the smaller 10.5 ring and pinion I would be willing to give it a try. For the same, or less, money however you could just take it down and have a pair of ARB lockers installed. I...

I wonder why they don't make a regular cab version?

    tire slippage on the wheel

I don't think the Staun's are going to fix this issue. It might be a really good way to ruin a set when the tire spins and rips of the tube stem. I would try sealant. It has worked wonders for me in the past.....and its cheap. Did you ever get an accurate measurement of the bead diameter?

It should be kinda like this...... This was the natural position that felt good to me. I am building an entirely new steering column mount. I can change the angle of the column a little bit but I can only change the plane of the steering wheel so much. I will be using a small steering wheel...

Here is the rough mock up of the seating position. Its tight but I think it will work. Its VERY comfortable compared to the old stock seating position. The rear of the seat frame is 3/4" off the floor and the front of the seat is approx 7" off the floor. The seat frames JUST clear the...

New Concept Jeep — The Hurricane = Old News?

The drivetrain and steering in that is a very unique concept. From what I remember it runs 2 separate engines, transmission, and transfer cases. The front engine drives one side of the vehicle, the rear engine drives the opposite side ( not front and back! ). There is also some combining...

400 orders placed for Wrangler pickup conversion kits

The problem is that jeep is currently selling every wrangler is can produce already....they don't really NEED to offer more interesting options.

Why thank you. I don't think this is rocket science or anything, but it does take a bit of thinking and head scratching! If I was going to build another one, probably will someday, I would just start with a fresh tub.....and no base vehicle. Most everything is going to get changed anyways, so...

I needed some new inspiration for my build. APU on Pirate was kind enough to post a more than 'chop worthy picture! I think you get the idea! Doing a somewhat dimensional accurate 'chop like this really helps me put what I have in my head into metal....

Its almost a roller!.......well......not really. The weight is on the springs and axles now! The superlift 1" springs are new, but DANG I think they have a lot more than 1" of lift, I would probably say at least 3" over what I had before! I will be able to adjust that to a point with the...

I got my seats in the mail! I ended up ordering a pair of the RaceTrim low back seats that where on sale through JeepSwag. I couldn't argue with $214 for a PAIR of seats delivered. Overall I am very happy. I will be even more happy when the 'pootch' of fabric goes away on the seat back! I think...

It was nice enough outside on Saturday that I was able to rip the axles out of the old frame. Now I can tear into the D44 rear and steal some parts off the front axle for the rear floater conversion.....

    Project: Doitall Dodge

Thank you, all my time is going towards my old Willys rebuild ( in the jeep section ) right now. The dodge will be getting some love this summer I hope. I could still sink $1000's of dollars and just as many hours into it, but it just flat works as it is....

Time for some brakes! I went a little bit different route than I see most people go. I wanted the disc brakes to be the same at all 4 corners. My full float rear kit is going to use all the same spindles, bearing hubs, studs, etc. I also wanted slip OVER rotors that would work on the stock...

    Build ideas

I think that your idea is just fine. The one thing to consider is that your going to be trapped in the shop for a while trying to put something together. You might be able to find a non-running blazer for CHEAP and bolt all your parts in it over a long weekend with friends. There would be VERY...
