    LR3 - LR4 Resources

As for new mods, how about a TDI?? My next plan was in fact to be able to manually link my 2nd air compressor and tank to the stock system in times of need. I don't know how the computer system reads the air or if it even does. I suppose it may simply use the height sensors to decide how...

    LR3 - LR4 Resources

I may not be able to let the thing go! Presumably OME has super HD springs that will reduce body roll on the highway? On trips mine weighs in at 8000 lbs. This would increase if I installed the extra fuel tank in the spare tire area. I would welcome a 285/65x18 but also like to retain the...

    LR3 - LR4 Resources

I find this steel spring thing very interesting but I see some obvious problematic points. Is this something you are just hoping you can figure out or are you working from an example of it having been done successfully on another LR3? How do you deal with the computers issues? How does this...

Tire choice may also have more of an affect than one would think. Aren't some MT tires somewhat pliable on the sidewall as compared to my bfg AT tires? I have been told that by a Rover off-roader tech. In some ways, I really love the LR3 despite it's limitations.

    LR3 - LR4 Resources

What size and model tires and rims were you using on your D2? A larger tire, aired down a little is going to be different than the maximums the lr3 can use on 18" rims. I've driven both too and I do not see how a steel sprung lr3 is going to be softer riding over that stuff than the air...

    LR3 - LR4 Resources

I do think it is unfortunate and annoying that the designers did not allow for the driver to manually engage the full range of the suspension height, at least up to 10mph or similar. For example, the VW Touareg, also on an air suspension with similar set up in terms of "normal ride height" at...

    LR3 - LR4 Resources

RR has slight advantage due to platform design that results in higher overall continuous ground clearance, primarily under the rear diff. This is obvious when looking at the back of an lr3 and seeing the very low hanging diff and exhaust routing. RR also has the benefit of looking much cooler...

What is the deal with Rovers?

    A. why do you "love Land Rovers" ? do you know why? B. if you are worried about reliability, you have answered your own concerns. Your "dads day" is the time from which you can apparently afford an example, thus, you will inherit problems and have lots of fun times wondering "what's wrong this...

    Audi allroad: Perfect Choice?

photo essay ;) I love our 08 S4 Avant and wouldn't drive an automatic if you gave me one, the 6mt is just too fun and simple to maintain long term. The quattro system on the later model is so amazing with it's 4:1 bias and the comfort and feel are incredible, the sound of the v8 with the full...

    Michael's new (old!) G-wagon

I was out on VC Island a couple months ago and saw several of those 4x4 tdi Delica things running around and one for sale. A guy we met said they are basically imported from Japan when they get old enough, etc. What do you think of those things - are they just cheapo or made fairly well? Of...

    ARB Bushranger Sand Tracks

I like the design of these - at least they are more useful when bridging too. http://www.britishpacific.com/BPSite//landroverparts/BridgingLadder.html I don't have them but I do have some fiberglass "waffle" boards that are 12"x48" that have worked well so far. The ones above are a foot longer.

What's under the rear covered area? Sweet rack. We like to open our Hannibal over the side to create more covered area from rain and the rear awning over the back door and full length side awning on left. One with both awnings is prior to tent but it shows the idea.

    New 2009 G550, 2009 G55 or 07 G55 for trips?

I welcome any related/similar topic questions - it only helps me learn more as well. I had VERY good luck all my miles in the Disco I and like the idea of returning to slid axles and locking center diff plus the added bonus of fr/rr diffs too! I have also been so bummed with the limitations...

    New 2009 G550, 2009 G55 or 07 G55 for trips?

Thanks to both of you. I agree on mostly stock but just with the short spring lift like I have on my 04 disco. It actually handles better after that change. Even without spring lift the G will fit the 32-33 fine it appears so that's nice too. As for "poky" I think it may be more that I am...

    2006 or 07 Range Rover

I wouldn't consider losing one of the best seats minor. The lux pkg or supercharged model up to 06 came with upper seat back articulation, lost with seat mounted side airbags and got non tilting head rests too. Actually the suspension also changed, see this link to learn what changed each year...

    Overland Journal: G-Wagen

My first Discovery I is white and I have always loved the no nonsense/utility of that color, as well as it being so easy to bring back to life after 10 yrs of sun and grime.
