I finished the water tank/battery box. I baffled the outlet port to allow the water pump to drain it down to the last 1/4". The outlet is 1/2" NPT. I Mig welded the inside and tig welded the external seams. Should hold around 36 gallons, 4-6 volt golf cart batteries and a group 27 starting battery.
So yeah those are definitely misleading in saying that they are on demand. They are only on demand if the system is up to temp from the engine or from the espar or webasto. Basically the same thing everyone builds on their own using an espar and a marine hot water heater or heat exchanger unless...
I would leave them alone unless the brick is rattling around inside the casing. If that happens, it won't be long before they break up which can lead to problems like clogging. Your ECU will tell you if they stop working well with a P0420 code. Worth noting is that cats are under federal law and...
That looks like a nice air handler for the price. Definitely worth considering for me but I will probably first try my home built setup made mostly from stuff I have lying around
The wastegate can be faulty. Wire it shut and see if it makes more boost. Be careful not to let it overboost for too long though.
If it had a boost leak you would probably hear it as a loud hissing noise.
If the turbo is making any boost and not making noise, it's probably not bad. You can...
Hmm. Do those have a wait time for hot water? Seems like diesel can't fire up fast enough to provide instant hot water.
Just glanced at their site. Seems like it's no different that hot water systems that many have built using an espar and heat exchanger to heat water.
If it is as you say and the port has power where it should and ground where it should but nothing works in that port, I am guessing your meter has an issue. Maybe its on hold with a reading from the other power port?
https://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/123/2979/=18v6vxi I would go with something like this for the prop and use a full length piano hinge. What you posted likely wouldn't have much weight rating. The first two options are rated at 30lbs so if you use 2 of them that's a good amount of load.
Have you considered a high amp alternator that doesn't have a vacuum pump, then add an electric vacuum pump? That is what I am doing on my Cummins swapped NPR. I considered mounting an NPR alternator but was surprised to find they are quite lacking in amps and there is no affordable high amp...
Hopefully under 15k lbs. Based on the weights of other rigs that I have seen, I think I should be closer to 12k
Thanks! They are H1 Hummer wheels that I recentered to match the ford axles. Trail worthy fab makes the centers. I am sure they would make you a custom set for whatever bolt pattern...
Yeah I have tons of time and material cost in this but the aluminum skeleton is more my style. I have some composite skills but generally don't care for working with them. I agree though that cost and thermal properties are better with composites.
Here is the latest project on the truck. This...
