What Do You Dislike About Your JK

Agreed. Mine is 6 months old in Southern California and things are already rusting underneath worse than my 14 year old land cruiser.

What Do You Dislike About Your JK

I just leave my headlights on auto, with the dash brightness all the way up. And I used the AEV Procal to turn the low beam DRLs on. I live in sunny LA and don't have a problem with seeing them.

What Do You Dislike About Your JK

G wagens still have none and 80 series only have those dinky ones. So don't feel too bad. But yes, it makes for an interesting drive through experience. Ran mount cup holder?

What Do You Dislike About Your JK

I dislike: How hard it is to install a strong roof rack. How much of the interior is hard plastic. How fast the stock leather wears. The lack of front mudflap, which creates the gross door handles. The sharp nub on the end of the blinker stalk. The factory Nav not dimming when it's set on auto...

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

To get this thread back on track, here's the summary for the OP: With enough work, either the 100 or 200 would fit the bill. Just buy the newest, lowest mileage truck you can afford. But keep the cost of necessary mods in mind.

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

TeCKis300, I'm afraid you may be in danger of this on this topic. The 5 speed is a huge improvement. The VVTI isn't as big of a deal as it seems on paper. At 275hp, with only about 80% of that going to the wheels, it only has 15hp more than a 98-02 with DT headers. And it weighs about 450lbs...

New JK Stubby Bumper from ARB

Post it up. I'm real curious how that looks. That's probably the set up is have for awhile. Nice! Looks good to me!That's the exact set up I'm considering. Thanks. Is there any room in it to cut holes for the foglights or mounting a small air tank? I assume it's pretty jam packed in there.

New JK Stubby Bumper from ARB

Great info. You know what they say: pictures or it didn't happen. The new finish looks like AEVs finish. I just wonder if the stubby would look dumb with skinnier tires like 34x10.5s.

Subscribed. If I could have two jeeps, this is how I'd build the second one. Keep it coming.

New JK Stubby Bumper from ARB

Oh I know you! What's up? Thanks for your thoughts, and nice looking Jeep. Perfect balance of stock and capability. I'm surprised I can't find more input and reviews on these. It seems like a lot of features and protection packed into a 66lb $500 bumper from a very respectable company. I...

New JK Stubby Bumper from ARB

Old thread, but... Anyone have a good prospective on using this stubby bumper for an overlanding oriented JKUR? The ARB and AEV full width bumpers look okay. But I'm not a huge fun of how the close the gap between the fenders and bumper to meet Euro-specifications. And most of the other...

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

I loved the top gear USA disclaimer in the part III Overland Journal article. The same "professional driver" blew the engine within the first 15mins of our commercial shoot. Luckily it was one of only two models of that car in existence in the US at the time.

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

Any lift will change the geometry. Leveling kits seem more for looks than function. It hurts the geometry (eliminating take) and doesn't add travel or help with load carrying. I've heard a lot of good things about them. But they're not for me.

And without aftermarket bumpers, the 2.5" lift is probably more like 3".

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

34s with 2.5 look how it should have come from the factory. Plus that's about a 3" improvement in approach, departure and break over.

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

And they way over emphasize range. All of those can go 300 milies per tank. That and value. Knocking the g550 out and putting 2 grand Cherokees on the list.... Boo.

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

My thoughts exactly. What size tires do you all run with your 3.5" lifts? I was comparing the 2.5 and 3.5 today. While I don't want to make the mistake I made with my first land cruiser of going too small, I also want to retain decent mpg and daily drivability. So I was planning on looking for...
