    What is everyone up to?

I see LOTS of Toyo MT's around here too. The load range on my MTR's covers the weight of my van, but having a higher rating seems like a good idea. Sportsmobiles are HEAVY! Post some photos when you can. Always good to see 4x4 vans out being used! Brian

    What is everyone up to?

Hi, I like them. I had these tires and rims under my '90 Suburban for a while before putting them under the SMB so I can't really say how many miles they will do under the van. I have 23,000 on the van now. I bought two tires for the front a while back, as I put the new ones up front and move...

    What is everyone up to?

Sorry to say, nothing related to traveling in my Sportsmobile. Rats! Oh man, that hurts!!! ;^) That is on my dream list to do. We came close to doing the Copper Canyon on our honeymoon, but it was the wrong time of year, and it was years before we had the van too. I am trying to get out...

    Trailer vs. Sportsmobile

    > "I passed him and then the road got really narrow while I was passing and I think the left front tire got stuck in the soft shoulder and the car started immediately fishtailing." Not passing judgment on the driver, but I would think the soft shoulder and possible lack of experience would be...

We have a 2006 Ford 6.0 diesel 4x4 SMB, and we are getting 15.8 mpg average on all miles driven. This includes the last 6,000 miles of road trips, town driving...

    Favorite lenses?

Why do you prefer the F4 over the F2.8? I am about to buy Canon lenses so any feedback on this is helpful. I am planning on the 24-70 F2.8L, 70-200 F2.8L IS, 300 F4L, and the 1.4 extender. Brian Rutherford

Your Thoughts on a 1998 Ford 4x4 Van

Van body swap " If I buy a newer 2 wheel drive van (around 2001 - 2004, same model) can I swap out the 4x4 drive train from the 1998? I have a feeling the 1998 van is going to be pretty trashed." I can't find the link now, but I have seen a Ford website showing how the van body can come off...

    Hells Canyon Trip

Angus "Angus is the bomb-diggity!" Yeah, he'd agree too! He's Cairn Terrier. The most famous of the breed was Toto from the Wizard of Ox. Terrier's are (in)famous for having attitude. At 15 years old he still thinks he rules the world. Best little dog ever... ;^) Brian

    New Sportsmobile

That's great! I remember being in awe that I was buying a 4x4 camper van, as I had wanted one for sooo many years. Hope you get many great years of fun out of it. If you pass through Bellingham, feel free to stop and say hi. Brian Rutherford

    New Sportsmobile

Congrats on getting a Sportsmobile! We've had one for a year and a half and are very happy with it. Looks like you are getting the RB50 floorplan. Are you getting the diesel engine? Regarding the top folding down, it does so in an accordion fashion. There are two bunge cords around the top that...

    Southeast/Central Oregon trip

No, we got to the Hot Springs campground right after dark, so we didn't see the springs until our walk around the camp area the next morning. No bugs that I recall for us. Must of been a better time of year for less bugs. Brian
