    SR locker, looking for advice

Be sure to get the gearing to match your front. Also, get the air pump which is under the right rear seat. You can also get the locker ecm and switch is you want to use them. I just used a switch from radio shack and wired it straight.

Manual locking hubs....any difference in MPG?

I have noticed that with the tires I run coupled with the manual locking hubs, I get close to 18MPG. This is a 3MPG improvement over the 32/11.5 tires with standard flanges. When I installed the manual locking hubs with the 32x11.5 tires I only noticed a slight increase in fuel savings. I'd say...

    Eurosonic's Montero 2.5Gen Build Thread

Rain water drains out of the inlet via the outer slits near the top. No need for a drain hole unless you can make a one way valve just for a piece of mind. Or if you think you really need it as YMMV. :) The only time I turn mine around is when it snows heavy as snow can get packed in there as I...

    1996 Montero Front End Shakes

If it starts to shake at 60mph, it can only be a wheel/tire issue. Either you have a bent rim, a tire out of balance, a warped tire, flat spot, or busted belt. Does the steering wheel shake? Is it coming from the front or rear? I have on occasion seen worn springs do this, but there was a bent...

9 Passenger Overland/Safari Vehicle for a Family Guy

A camper on the back of a truck that has a sliding rear window. This gives you a climate controlled rear if you can fit a small box fan in the window opening. I am sure you can find a way to put some seats in the rear and some carpet in the bed right? I had a buddy that owned a Mazda pick up...

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Yeah, I've got one sitting in the back right now awaiting install. It's getting new 75 90 in it upon installation. I change drivetrain fluid once a year regardless of wether it needs it or not. I check the condition after every other time I take it out. I'll be flushing the transmission upon...

    SOFpirate's 1996 Montero LS buildthread.

Get them for the Toyota sequoia. They are called spring spacers or leveling kit. 2 inches is what you want. For a 2000 sequoia I believe. If you have an eBay account I'd use it as I got mine for 60 bucks.

Awesome! Speaking of which, I ripped my outer boot on my new cv axle while out this past weekend. Gotta put a new one on before it gets contaminated. Can't wait to see your build up.

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Will do, just keep in mind that mine has been through some punishment. 25* climbs while going over rocks and stuff like that. Also, I don't think the prior owner ever changed the fluid. On second thought.... He didn't because their was still factory tamper seal on it and the consistency, color...

Spare tire max size + Monty flex

A quick disconnect for the front would be an engineering feat in itself. Just getting it off is a workout.

Spare tire max size + Monty flex

Go through the sticky posted pajero pictures. A picture is worth 1000 words..... Also, like offroader said, there are several build threads to look through as you'll find it is best to get an idea and tweak it to your standards. The flex is acceptable for most things if you just tighten the...

    1996 Montero Sunroof

Those window motors get tired after a while. You can pick some window motor/ regulators for a good price on ebay. They aren't very hard to replace so long as you take you time so you don't break the snaps.

Got the transfer case in today. Taking it to the Pig tomorrow to have them replace it as I don't have a lift or the back to do it right now.

    1996 Montero Sunroof

You may want to run a sprinkler on it for a while just to be sure it isn't leaking. Believe it or not, that's what the pros do.

Bungee cables are like wire legos. Good for all sorts of things.
