    Ultimate Expedition Vehicle

These look like a good item for a biz such as Panama Passage to have to rent to travelers and perhaps ship back from Colombia.

    1988 Toyota Custom Camper ???????

What engine does it have? (88 was first year for 3VZE V6, but it might have the 4cylinder.) How much does it weigh? Have you driven it? If it is a 22R or 22RE 4cylinder, then at 80K miles, it's good for another reliable 200K... but you won't get there fast. 22R is <100 hp. The V6 was 150 hp...

    Knife thread

This is what I carry daily: http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=600 Byrd's "Cara Cara 2" folder (Spyderco's cheap chinese-made line of knives) I had a Cara Cara 1 with the G-10 handle scales for a couple of years. For the price, I thought it was decent quality but it was...

    Project "Overlander 88"

Great looking set up... you should keep a running tally of what you spend on it and calculate total cost of ownership. I bet you'll be in the single digits of percentage of what some members have spent on rigs and kit and have a very capable and comfortable rig :-D

    My New '85 4Runner

I picked up two of these last weekend at a Walmart (not my photo).... $0.78 each. BTW, have y'all seen the 'props' they give it on the back of the package? :-D I'm keeping my eyes open for one of those blue ones... and one of these! That makes me miss my old '88 SR5 4R :-D The best...

The Family Daily Driver ExPo Rig Thread!

I voted Tacoma because of the doublecab... it's all the specs of the extended cab (wheelbase, bumpertobumper length, ~fuel economy, etc) but with 4 doors. Regarding it being best for a fam, my opinion is theoretical since currently the mrs and I are still just the 2 of us... but I feel that...

Cash 4 Clunkers fj60 just will not die.

ughhhh.... my heart hangs heavy for that poor LC. :-( What a waste, especially since next it went to a crusher.

    Dont try !

My guess is that they have a locker and removed the left side axle shafts since 70s have full floaters. EDIT : that's on the rear... on the front, it'd be easy enough to just unlock the hubs, have it in 2wd and effectively drive the vehicle by the rear right wheel... I suspect the riders...

Had some Cash... Now I have a 1st gen 4Runner

Very clean looking 4Runner. Just as well you rebuilt that 22RE, now you don't have to worry about it for another 200-300k miles... Considering your photos, you might dig the Deathrunner.

    Strange electrical (lgihts) occurance... help???

Trailer light wiring? Do you have a tow package installed on your truck? On my 88, I had one that I think was installed at the dealer, and frankly they did a poor job of wiring it. The trailer wiring ran from the hitch up into the body near the left taillight. The wires were connected with...
