If the rust is not bad in either one...and there could be a complete M100 between the two of them, offer 800 for both. Untouched M100's in california run 700-1200 bucks in decent shape. Most have more rust than you can see until you blast them as the miltary was never shy on slapping paint all...
Without knowing exactly what kind of driving you will do it can be hard to determine what is best. If you are looking for top notch quality for under 7 grand then I would suggest Sierra 4 X 4 trailers or Adventure trailers. 7 grand would get you started, but would not include all of the bells...
All jeeps prior to I think 1997 had the 5.5 on 5 pattern....the trailers were built to be interchangable in many respects to the jeeps of the time period that pulled them.....blow a tire on the jeep? Dump the trailer and pull one off....break a spring...dump the trailer. You get the idea.
The tub comes off fairly easy....Just 13 bolts along the outside and possibley some underneath if it has rails on the bottom that attach to the cross bars. you can do all of the work to the frame/brakes/axl/electrical, and then just pop the tub back on. You will love pulling one of these guys...
There was a thread on this site recently that detailed the conversion of an enclosed trailer to an expo trailer (see below). He did a fantastic job.

If I may chime in here....I have not seen any rims that narrow new and I havehunted around a bit as well. One thingyou may want to consider is to post up looking for unused military trailer rims. The M100 rims were a solid face and the M4`6 have the holes in them. These wheels are steel and...
You have never really indicated how much you are willing to put forth on this tent. It may help narrow the field if we had a ballpark figure.
I would also like to throw out Camping Lab. Their tents are good quality (as well as the awnings) and they are on they way low end of the tent market in...
I just created a bumper for my M416...basically the same way that the thread mentioned above was done, although I did not put a receiver tube in in yet (still thinking about this one). I just bought a 6 foot piece of 2 x 4 (.120 wall) steel and shaped it on the ends like the jeep bumper. i cut...
I have pulled 1/4 ton military trailers over the Rubicon for over twenty years. Some loads have been heavy (repair parts for the mechanics area, lumber, concrete, blocks of ice, etc) and some loads have been rather light (less than 500 lbs). I have had a few times that i wish it had brakes...
It looks to be an M100, but someone has added the tailgate and chenged up the landing leg and lunette area. The tub looks right for an M100 with the 4 tie downs on each side.
Why not use a tankless propane powered heater? Have you looked at tankless water heaters. This would allow you to have hot water without having to run the jeep. There are many different models/styles to choose from and this type of set up would be instant (Here is an example...
There was a thread on here recently where SWAG Off Road (Oregon company if I remember correctly) built one for a client. If you go check out their website or find the thread, they did a step by step (with photos) portion building one
Before you go nuts with this project, did you look at Campinglab? I too hunted the web for many hours looking at RTT's. Everyone I found was a minumum of 1400-1400 and up. I found Camping lab and decided to buy an awning first (hand't saved up the cash for a tent at that point). When i got the...
You might like this too...although I cannot take credit for it, someone on this thread sent this up for all to share. It is basically exact drawings you can take to a metal shop to have them build the m416 box
I may be going in another direction here, but why would you want to air down your trailer tires and make your pull vehicle have to work harder? I would think if you want more fles. it would be easier to (and cheaper) to do that with springs. Just my thoughts, but I am still trying to figure out...
